ABC News aired a video on Sunday that host Tom Llamas said depicted a Turkish attack in northern Syria against Kurdish civilians. Turkey is indeed pushing into Syria and slaughtering Kurds along the way, but the video ABC News played last night is from a military gun demonstration in Kentucky that was published to YouTube in 2017.
This video, right here, appearing to show Turkeys military bombing Kurd civilians in a Syrian border town, Llamas said on the October 13 broadcast as the video played.
But the explosions in the video are identical to explosions seen in a video titled, Knob Creek night shoot 2017. Knob Creek Gun Range, in the town of West Point, Kentucky, hosts a biannual event called the Military Gun Shoot & Military Gun Show where weapons are fired at night. Members of the public can come and see the show for a fee in April and October.
Side-by-side, its clear that the videos are the same (See link for animated gif) :

Back in 2006, myself and several other FReepers played a role in finding evidence of doctored and misleading war photographs that was eventually sent to the staff at Little Green Footballs depicting much more violence and destruction during conflicts under Republican Presidencies.
This lead to the Wikipedia: Adnan Hajj photographs controversy (leading to what was to become known as Reutersgate).
It lead to an investigation, culprits were fired and nearly 1,000 photos that were suspected of being doctored/faked were removed from the Reuters website.
you’re a hero as far as i am concerned
Well done!
Jeez, these people just can’t resist sticking their fork in the socket.
The real question is how many times have they gotten away with this kind of thing without a sharp-eyed viewer catching something? This probably happens constantly
Several other instances of faked/doctored journalism by several other TOP MSM outlets, from CNN to The New York Times, during the Lebanon War also surfaced during this time as well.
AKA: 'Hezbollywood'
It would be great if any conservative news outlets reporting on this story also cite these historical instances as proof that things like this are not just isolated mistakes. It is a collective and very common practice that has been employed for decades by the MSM, and there is plenty of real historical evidence to prove it.
Obviously a cub reporter working on this story was told to find footage pertaining to “Kurd/Turkey”, came back with “Kentucky.” Another product of the public education system...
” No, it wasnt an error you dips#its, it was FAKE NEWS ABC intentionally trying to distort the facts to influence public opinion - and getting caught at it.”
Spot on. How could it possibly be an error? If they had real combat footage it would have been vetted, edited, and advertised as such. They went into their vault and looked for tracers, explosions, night darkness that could stand in for their purposes. No recognizable structures, landmarks and especially people. No mistake and not filler images like that Japanese Judy that gets shot down multiple times in every Pacific war film made in the 50s and 60s and every documentary from Bictory at Sea to The World at War. No this was as deliberate as Rathergate.
Oh one more thing, were this real it would have been taken from the Turkish side of the battle. Western film crew with Turkish forces, not bloody likely.
New ABC motto: To air is to err.
Not just leftists, but some gullible elderly viewers.
My mother watches ABC News religiously. We live together for financial reasons and because both of us have certain health issues, although shes getting much worse.
I showed her this article but it made no difference. She replied in her snarky, arrogant tone How do you know that this article isnt fake news? and smiled smugly. Unfortunately, shes the Im always right type.
To her, every word they say is gospel. The strange thing is that she is a Trump supporter and a conservative. But, she has the idea that the network news consists of honest reporters.
When the news comes on, I leave the room or put on headphones because their lies make my blood pressure and anxiety skyrocket.
Chuckle...
And THAT video is just a couple of good ol’ boys having fun with some heavy hardware.
Sleep well, Beto and Swalwell. That’s ALL over the Country...
Damn. I need to get down to Knob Creek.
Anomaly does a side by side in this video

More fake news...about the Fake News. ABC News did not apologize. Someone in the employ of ABC News issued a weasel-worded “correction” that they hope might give them cover for malfeasance and/or gross negligence. (My money is on deliberate malfeasance.)
“ABC News regrets the error” is not an apology. It has all the sincerity of the automated prompts on a Comcast phone tree. An actual apology acknowledges the wrongness of an act or omission and the harm it has caused. An apology directs itself to the offended parties, along with some gesture of intent to do better or to rectify the wrong.
Of course, in real life, decent people know this instinctively. They also know that this is, at best, lawyerly damage control. This unsigned statement, written in the third person by an unknown party, sticks in the craw and compounds the offense. An anonymously written, terse mumble of “regret” for unspecified actions of unknown, unnamed others means exactly nothing. But it’s very telling in its own way. They’re taking the Fake News equivalent of the Fifth.
