UTOPIA? California Bans Tiny Plastic Shampoo Bottles in Hotels as Homeless Crisis Deepens
The State of California unveiled a set of new rules regulating their hospitality industry this week; banning the use of small, disposable plastic bottles commonly distributed to guests at nationwide chains and hotels.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced Wednesday that he signed legislation into law banning hotels from distributing small plastic bottles to guests filled with personal products like shampoo, conditioner or soap, reports The Hill.
The new rules take effect on January 1, 2023 and apply to hotels with more than 50 rooms or suites. The regulation will apply to all hotels in 2024.
Thank you Governor @GavinNewsom for signing #ab1162 to ban single use toiletry bottles in the hotel industry! This bill moves us one step closer to phasing out single use plastic in our society. Thank you to California Hotel & Lodging Association for the support, posted the Assembly member behind the law.

Trump retweeted this. So ... small bottles of shampoo are prohibited in hotels, but regular-sized bottles are prohibited on airplanes.

Of what use is shampoo, when your hotel has no electricity and the streets are filled with human shit?

I’ve lost so many restful nights worrying about these little plastic bottles. They were second only to the horrors of straws! /s Oh the huge manatees.
Meanwhile, the California government takes another pass on promoting great tax incentives to build desalinization plants to alleviate the negative effects of California’s water supply problems.
In time we’ll have another drought. The lakes in northern California will empty out again. This time we may have some serious health problems and tens of thousands of deaths.
No matter, at least those cute little plastic bottles will have been dispatched to PC Purgatory.
Leftist can pat themselves on the back. They were heard!
Idiots...

Well, it's kinda like 140 years ago, except that is was horse manure instead of human, and there weren't as many. I'm thinking an old episode of Maverick, where you get a basin of water and some lye to wash up.

I know a fellow who sometimes works away from home and takes his own shampoo
He then brings all of the little motel bottles and soap bars home and drops them in a dropbox for needy families
But, it’s not like any of the liberals in CA use soap and shampoo anyway, so...

I guess travelers to California will go to a nearby store to buy a bottle of shampoo (smallest size they can find) to use during their stay. At the end of their stay they will chunk the bottle of shampoo in the trash.
If California is trying to reduce disposable plastic they may have made their “problem” worse.
To: Dr. Sivana
I bet some enterprising Jihadist could find a way to tamper with that. I wouldnt use it.

They expect the motels to install dispensers like in restaurant bathrooms.

They used to joke “Will the Last Person to Leave (CA) Please Turn Out the Lights.” Now the lights are already turned off.
They should sponsor people eating phosphorescent chemical additives so the poop will glow in the dark. Then people can step and jump and swerve around the piles in the dark without street lights.

My guess is that they will go to the metal foil packets, the ones like restaurant ketchup packets.

You may have figured it out. We just need to find the dispenser manufacturer or distributor that the CA pols own stock in.
