California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday signed a law that will make the state the first to allow employers, co-workers and teachers to seek gun violence restraining orders against other people.
The bill was vetoed twice by former governor Jerry Brown, a Democrat, and goes beyond a measure that he signed allowing only law enforcement officers and immediate family members to ask judges to temporarily take away peoples' guns when they are deemed a danger to themselves or others.
They were among 15 gun-related laws Newsom approved as the state strengthens what the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence calls the nation's toughest restrictions.
Newsom, a Democrat, signed a companion bill allowing the gun violence restraining orders to last one and five years, although the gun owners could petition to end those restrictions earlier.
The California law will require co-workers requesting the orders to have "substantial and regular interactions" with gun owners to seek the orders and co-workers and school employees must get approval from their employers or school administrators before seeking them. People seeking the orders will have to file sworn statements specifying their reasons for doing so.
The measure was opposed by gun owners' rights groups and the American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU said the bill "poses a significant threat to civil liberties" because orders can be sought before gun owners have an opportunity to contest the requests.
Those allowed to request orders under the new law may "lack the relationship or skills required to make an appropriate assessment," the ACLU said.
In all, the governor signed 15 gun violence bills, including one that will prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunitions at San Diego County's Del Mar Fairgrounds, the city of Del Mar and the city of San Diego starting next year

So anyone with a job can demand their coworkers have their guns confiscated. Nice. Might as well just be included with any performance coaching or yearly performance reviews.
The left has broken free and they are running to the endzone. And political why not? They have no resistance.
Want to rape someone who you know has the ability to defend herself or himself? Just accuse him/her or them of possible violent tendencies. That’ll free up the landscape for any robber, rapist or murderer.
And there will be scenarios such as what I just described taking place.
It’s a fact because evil will happily use stupid people in order to facilitate their crimes.
I said it for several decades that parents should be teaching their children (boys and girls) self defense as soon as those children are able to understand safety. And this includes teaching the children to fight dirty, using any means needed to survive.

Who is going to press the necessary legal actions all the way to the US Supreme Court? How many decades will that take? Will the Supremes even consider such a case?
Under our current "Pretense-of-Law" system, the Left is winning here.
It will require Federal intervention with a Republican controlled Senate, House, and Presidency to maybe reverse the progress of the gun control proponents. I would love to see that. I don't see much right now. It is very frustrating.

Hope you patriots in conservative counties elected yourselves pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriffs, so when the gestapo state troops show up in your counties to seize weapons, the armed sheriff and his 2,000 heavily armed auxiliary deputies can show the Nazi goons out of the county.
