Turkey's Syria invasion: Member of US Special Forces says, 'I am ashamed for the first time in my career'

A member of U.S. Special Forces serving alongside the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria told Fox News' Jennifer Griffin on Wednesday they were witnessing Turkish atrocities on the frontlines.

“I am ashamed for the first time in my career,” said the distraught soldier, who has been involved in the training of indigenous forces on multiple continents. The service member, whom Griffin described as "hardened," is among the 1,000 or so U.S. troops who remain in Syria.

“Turkey is not doing what it agreed to. It’s horrible,” this military source on the ground told Griffin. “We met every single security agreement. The Kurds met every single agreement [with the Turks]. There was no threat to the Turks -- none -- from this side of the border."

You are exactly right. I can’t quite remember that one tweet from the president, but it was something to the effect that he was going to decimate and destroy Turkey’s economy if they took action against the Kurds. I guess now we will wait and see if President Trump really does take this sort of action.

I hope he does.

Why should we sacrifice our children for these Islamic thugs? The best thing we could do is withdraw our troops from these countries and let them kill one another until none are left standing. Remember President Washington’s words on “foreign entanglements.”

We are essentially setting 10s of 1000s of ISIS prisoners free.

Turkey loves ISIS.

There is one other thing. Trump gave orders To leave Syria almost a year ago. If his orders would’ve been followed at that time, things probably wouldn’t have escalated to this point. The rebellion in our military leader ship is what brought us to the state of affairs today.

The United States was supposed to be in Syria for 30 days, that was many years ago. We stayed and got deeper and deeper into battle with no aim in sight. When I arrived in Washington, ISIS was running rampant in the area. We quickly defeated 100% of the ISIS Caliphate,.....

....including capturing thousands of ISIS fighters, mostly from Europe. But Europe did not want them back, they said you keep them USA! I said “NO, we did you a great favor and now you want us to hold them in U.S. prisons at tremendous cost. They are yours for trials.” They.....

.....again said “NO,” thinking, as usual, that the U.S. is always the “sucker,” on NATO, on Trade, on everything. The Kurds fought with us, but were paid massive amounts of money and equipment to do so. They have been fighting Turkey for decades. I held off this fight for....

....almost 3 years, but it is time for us to get out of these ridiculous Endless Wars, many of them tribal, and bring our soldiers home. WE WILL FIGHT WHERE IT IS TO OUR BENEFIT, AND ONLY FIGHT TO WIN. Turkey, Europe, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia and the Kurds will now have to.....

...figure the situation out, and what they want to do with the captured ISIS fighters in their “neighborhood.” They all hate ISIS, have been enemies for years. We are 7000 miles away and will crush ISIS again if they come anywhere near us!

Kurds are an ally? We may have been helping them but I wouldn't call them an ally.

Turkey is a NATO member. So we should go after another NATO member?

We've been dickering over Syria for years. Obama sent in our guys to train 50,000 rebels. They took the weapons and supplies and disappeared.

It's a Civil War...let it play out. Our 1000 or so soldiers isn't going to make a difference. It's become a Civil War...not a war against ISIS.

If Fox got plunked then I got plunked but I have no reason to think fox would fake something so verifiable and serious as this and think they, the only slightly conservative news, could get away with it. So post 40 has less cred than the fox interview at this point.

Turks have killed Kurds for ages. And Kurds kill Turks. I suspect the Turks are worse than the Kurds, but I don’t think WE can do squat all about it. Not in the long run.

Spent too much of my life in the ME to think there are any “good guys” there.

If they ace the Russian-aligned PKK faction which is a terrorist group, and the faction of Kurds that are affiliated with Socialist International, they’ll be doing the Kurds as a whole a favor, because once ISIS is gone the socialists and communists, as cozy as they are with Iran, will go back to killing fellow Kurds.

Recall that ISIS was partly composed of Kurdish imam Mullah Krekar’s forces.

No... zero Spec Ops would 1) talk over even a SAT phone, encrypted etc.... because of NSA decryption. So, that’s one.

2.) If a “supposed” spec ops did say all this.. it could very well be a agent provocateur— from Romney’s camp (one more effort in preventing Romney’s Panama Papers activities from coming out. So this could be FAKE.
After all— VOX and VICE news have imbeds with the Kurds and their own SAT links. Just a thought.

3.) There is NOTHING to say that Trump is having Erdogan show his dirty islamofascits a@@— the same one that allowed the Benghazi weapons deal hitlery and obamaumao (and McCain) put together to “develop and help the” “moderate Syrian rebels”. Who turned out to be FREAKING ISIS (and remember obamaomau called the ISIL— to emphasize the old name for Turkey— the Levant- the broad historic area that include Syria AND Turkey, and even the Greek Islands!) Erdogan supported ISIS— allowing his son to sell oil the ISIS trucks brought in from Iraq. He kept them afloat.

4.) Someone in the pentagon— can you say BUSHIES-like the ones who abandoned the Kurds before in Gulf War I-— are setting Trump up by getting him to do the same. He’s reacting— and is going to destroy Erdogan and in so doing support. a military coup of our friends in NATO in his leadership—perhaps. Because he IS flirting with Russia as well. We can put Predators up, and take out his tank columns— then see what the bastard says.

GHWBush did that- set the Kurds up to rebel against Saddam and then walked away to let them be gassed in the 10s of thousands- and he was NOT ashamed— under the proviso he was protecting our NATO ally. What an f’n double forked tongued creature of the Deep State. Bill Clinton’s other daddy married to Dorothy Bush who called billy cokenose—”just like one of my boys”! Seriously.

My view is we know almost nothing for certain. We don’t know what’s really going on and we don’t know if the SF guy is legit.

In spite of this, much has been spoken with great passion on both sides of the issue here.
