President Donald Trump's staunchest allies voiced outrage Monday after he suddenly declared that U.S. troops would allow Turkey to attack Syrian Kurds who have fought as U.S. allies for years to tamp down the Islamic State.
The president later threatened to destroy the economy of Turkey, a NATO member, if it goes too far against the Kurds. But that did little to mollify concerns overseas or in Congress after Trump announced that the U.S. would withdraw troops and get them out of the way of Turkish forces.
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said it would be "disgraceful if we sat idly by while Turkey slaughters the Kurds, as public reports suggest that Turkish leader Erdogan explicitly told President Trump he intends to do. Kurds risked their lives for many years to fight alongside us."

The same way the msm freaked when he put the embassy in Jerusalem.
There are more lies than words in that first paragraph.
It might as well have said “Trump holds down Kurds so Turks can kill them.
Its amazing how so many ppl still don’t get Trump.
The Kurds arent Christians. Those who are not rabid Muslims are Communists and have been responsible for a lot of terrorism on their own, and also took over a chunk of Syrian territory. We were supporting them only as a not very good counterweight to other forces in the region, but they havent proved very effective at that either.
Reinstall the Syrian refugees, who form a large part of Europes illegal immigrant population, in Syria. Let the Kurds get their act together themselves, or at any rate, without the loss of American lives.
I really do NOT understand what is going on. I keep telling myself if the media is going apesh!t, then it must be a good decision. But, for the pentagon to be “blindsided” by it (as the media reports) does not sound like a good thing.
Those 1000 personnel were supposed to be there for 30 days. That 30 days passed years ago. Are we to stay there forever?
At some point the regional powers have to take responsibility for their region of the world.
Can’t expect allies to have America’s backs, if you don’t have theirs. I hope Trump had the good sense to leave the Kurds a few surprises to greet the Turks with. Night goggles, RPGs, Stingers and such.
There, I said it.
They are not Americans. They are not Christian. Some are terrorists. We armed and funded them. Let them fight their own damn battles. We need our troops HOME.
You have to remember that a lot of the Pentagon still has many Obama people there...Plus, that is the media claiming “blindsided”...
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend”...But only until my enemy is gone, then THAT “friend”, which is Muslim, will turn on you...
“Dems care more for illegals than Americans, pubbies care more about Kurds. Some re-education on the Swamp is sorely needed.”
It’s all about which foreign sources are providing large sums of money into the personal and family accounts of our elected in Washington.
They are all on the take, making themselves and their families ridiculously wealthy by selling out American foreign policy to foreign interests. And using the military as their personal financial guarantor.
We have met the enemy, and it is “us”,
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend...”
The real enemy has offices in the Capitol Building in Washington D.C.
You got that right........
Does Trump’s tweet about Turkey amount to him giving the green light to Erdogan to invade Kurdish controlled areas of Syria!!??
So is Trump saying “Go ahead and invade the Kurdish areas of Syria, just don’t kill too much?” Holy mother of God!
I’m very curious. If everyone is so convinced that Turkey is so barbaric why is no one calling for them to be thrown out of NATO and further sanctioned? Also, if everyone in Congress wants a war then why is now one voting for it?
It's BS. Trump ran on this and has been talking about it and making moves to do it his entire presidency. The pentagon wasn't "blindsided" - certain media sources in that building are simply mad that Trump is actually enacting his policy.
If they are so dangerous, then why are they still alive?
President Trump is doing a great job, but this is wrong. The Kurds are very brave and good people who will fight the good fight even if it means they will die.
Our only true friends in the Middle East are Israel, Jordan and the Kurds.
Why don’t we take troops out of countries that don’t need us so much???? There are many of them such as Germany, Turkey, and many more.
The Kurds have fought for our interests, as well as their own.
MADE A MISTAKE.
Meant to say Germany, ITALY (NOT “There are many of them such as Germany, Turkey, and many more. ..”.”
Who cares? The middle east isn’t America. America first.
