And that is one more thing the statists hold dear. How can the military-industrial complex thrive if there are no wars?

What is our national interest in there?

Killing off ISIS was a national interest.

Funny to see leftists bash Trump for saying we need to get the hell out and stop these wars..how about taking care of our OWN people first..homeless, etc..I remember a time where the left was against war, now they love it

It’s simply amazing to watch president Trump take on Washington, DC corruption and our endless wars all in the same week. He’s it, he’s our last, best hope at restoring America.

This may be Trump’s greatest sin: pulling us out of endless wars. We beat Germany and Japan, and saved the Russians with lend-lease in 3 years. We can’t beat knuckle dragging Stone Age savages in 19?!?

Everyone gets invested in some war that they really don’t know much about and really has nothing to do with us. Is someone seriously suggesting that we were going to invade Syria and fight Turkey in a war with the Kurds?

I'm generally opposed to these kind of withdrawals. I certainly didn't support it when we left Iraq in 2010, and I didn't support Obama's ridiculous -- and wildly premature -- announcement of withdrawal from Afghanistan.

But Trump has a point with "endless wars". There doesn't seem to be any even theoretical endgame in Syria right now. No "defeat the Taliban" or "defeat ISIS" plan. Just sort of stay there indefinitely.

A line has to be drawn at some point. I'm willing to listen to arguments as to why we should stay, but Trump has a point.

According to folks like Oliver Stone and Lyndon LaRouche, this is why the CIA killed JFK. JFK didn’t want to put US troops in Vietnam (even though he did have Special Forces and USAF) in country in 1963.

While I do not believe most conspiracy theories, I want President Trump to wear a vest and pack heat everywhere he goes!

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over...— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 7, 2019

....the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 7, 2019

The horror! Horror!

It’s not going to be easy changing our ways, but we need to.
For many decades, most of America has seen itself as the
World’s Policeman. In today’s world, the price of that title has become too costly, in every sense of the word.

We have been hacking away in Afghanistan for over 19 years!!
We have very little to show for it in a material sense.
The Russians learned that same lesson back in the 1980’s.
More countries in that region need to step up and begin protecting themselves.

We got into wars because we had the people and the machines.

We didn’t think through ancient history, universal principles or how to exit.

Trump is doing the right thing here, but expect another manufactured chemical attack from this decision. I wouldn’t put it past the deep state to gin up some new crisis that makes it look like a bad decision to withdraw.

The country is undergoing a huge paradigm shift regarding getting involved militarily. Thank you Mr. Trump.
