'A stain on America’s honor': Lindsey Graham calls Trump's claim that ISIS has been defeated...

Donald Trump issued a stern defense on Monday of his decision to withdraw American forces from parts of northern Syria, a move that will make way for a Turkish invasion in the region and likely doom the Kurdish fighters who the U.S. has been aiding for years.

Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan announced the launch of his long-planned offensive on Monday. Trump justified his decision in a five-part 247-word tweetstorm, framing it as part of a larger policy of pulling U.S. troops out of 'ridiculous Endless Wars' and insisting that the ISIS caliphate is now '100%' defeated.

'WE WILL FIGHT WHERE IT IS TO OUR BENEFIT, AND ONLY FIGHT TO WIN, the U.S. president wrote in allcaps.

He fumed at European allies' refusal to accept the repatriation of their citizens who U.S. forces have captured as fighters for the ISIS terror army.

And he appeared unmoved by international concerns that a power vacuum will favor an ISIS resurgence and a Kurdish slaughter.

Linda, tell it to the EU.

They’re in this up to their armpits.

How are the Kurds our "allies"? We have no interests whatsoever in Syria, so there is nothing the Kurds can help us to achieve. How are we "betraying" them by not being their Daddy for the next 100 years, at pain of blood and treasure? Aren't there other groups around the world "worth fighting for" who we could also waste billions on? Where does it end? This is what both Washington and Eisenhower warned us against.

My family is not threatened at all by anyone in Syria, including ISIS fighters. But they are certainly threatened by illegal alien rapists, drunk drivers and identity thieves, and MS-13 animals.

And I’m sure Linda is grieving over the 500 thousand dead from the Syrian debacle.

Thankfully Trump and Putin put that dumpster fire out despite the deep state trying to take the President out.

I dunno know....ask the 100,000s who fled in rickety boats into pirate infested waters to escape the NVA wrath how it felt then.

The Ho and Giap generation has died off and liberalized the country no question of that

I always thought of those poor kids dying in the mud and red dirt as life oozed out of them and the thought that one day soon enough the folks who killed them would ask us back to Cam Ranh Bay etc to buffer Chinese intentions

War is about the immediate sadly and often seems such a waste in hindsight

And by taking part of Syria, and not intruding into Turkey— and we help them keep that vs. the russkies the kurds killed in country in that area (including russian fighter jets)— then this is not the threat to Turkey.

Problem is that Erdogan is ginning up idiot support going after the Kurds, as they always have done.

So... spec ops eyes/missiles in the sky. the kurds can hold off the Turks for a while, and if enough Turk soldiers offed—to the extent that can get out to Turk populace, Erdogan loses further. Get this pro Russian a@@ out, and get in the pro Nato peeps that he hasn’t slaughtered in country in the coup hitlery arranged (never forget that, in this game).

You can be both

There are 20,000 in Nashville

I’m ambivalent

They are their own ethnicity inhabiting I think four or five Mid East nations

But they are represented most often by gangsters or marxists

The Brits I think carved all that up in the wake of the ottomans previous carvings

It’s complicated

None of these nations will give up land for them....no way

Perhaps the “Kurds” should learn to stop begging America to help them agitate.

There is no solution to the Kurd problem. None of the nations are going to let them splinter their territory to create one of their own state.

There is nothing America can do about the multiple messes in the Middle East. We didn’t carve it up. We shouldn’t be funneling money or weapons to any of these various groups. I want my fellow countrymen OUT OF THERE YESTERDAY. I want a near total divorce from the Muslim wastelands.

You’re right about that-— we inherited from the idiot Brits— all of the divisions, Kurds, Saudi, Hindu Kush/Khyber/Afghanistan, and all of the fallout from Sykes-Picot creation of Jordan, Iraq.. etc.

You knew bin laden blew up the excellent kurd leader— with a bomb in a camera infiltrated with a report. Always— the muzzie-muzzie conflict, and of course the never ending gun running (the last time by our own hitlery, mccain, and obamaumao— which only cost us the Ambassador to Libya and 4 brave operators. Damn the lying “admin” criminals and their “video”. Bless the memory of the Operators and even the set up ambassador). The French (Elf Aquitaine) are happy to get back their Libyan wells, and the clintons got part of the Libyan national gold bullion, pretense of not allowing Khadaffi to mint his own gold coins for sale. So the City of London traders all happy. Disgusting slime democrats. Biden et family... whitey bulger’s pals. But that’s another story.

I do hope so.

Hard to fend off when you don’t have an air force.

But we’ve seen it happen

Trump warned Turkey today against going too far..... Should Turkey overshoot it’s part you can bet there will be retaliation.

Erdogan will always use whatever excuse to go against the Kurdsand he’ll push. I agree the kurds can handle the Turks for a time...plus I thought the agreement was that area in Syria was to be a buffer zone? So is Erdogan just going to invade regardless?

They ALL want to carve up Syria...and each take whatever share they can get.

...”Erdogan might make this little stab into Syrian turf, but he won’t be permitted to venture very far”.....

I agree....Despite the Kurds wanting their own country that does not give them the right to keep chipping away at the nations surrounding them and claim them.

Although I support their desire for a nation.... they have the areas that can sustain them already as a nation.

Awwww. My feelings are hurt... not.

The Kurds have waged armed insurrection within Turkey, that’s a fact.

I didn’t make sense the first time? Well maybe this will be more clear. I don’t care about Turks or Kurds or anyone else in the Middle East. My country cannot police the world and cannot solve all the world’s innumerable ethnic conflicts. I want my country to not interfere in others’ affairs unless it is attacked on it’s own soil. Clear that time? Hope so.
