"During a campaign event yesterday evening, Sen. Sanders experienced some chest discomfort. Following medical evaluation and testing he was found to have a blockage in one artery and two stents were successfully inserted. Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days," said Sanders senior adviser Jeff Weaver on Wednesday in a statement. "We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.

Sanders should be thankful he is not living in a state-run health care system. In our capitalist country, he will get life-saving treatment in a timely manner. How ironic he wants to do away with it.
He had two stents put in. End of campaign. No one is going to vote for him now.

Chest pain, stents. Its a heart attack. Sure they will downplay it, juggling the dictionary like they always do. Fact is, lots of actual myocardial infarction are, for some reason, not noticed by the patient. Dismissed as heartburn, maybe even no symptom at all.

I dont think any Interventional Cardiologist is going straight from chest pain in the ER to the catch lab. I imagine they still check the enzymes and maybe even do a scan first. Which may be why it took until today to go to the catch lab.

Hospitals in Canada are corporations. Most are not for profit. There are a few that are for profit. There are a few government owned hospitals but not the majority.
