Lewandowski hearing descends into chaos
The Hill ^ | 09/17/19 | Olivia Beavers

Corey Lewandowski jumped to President Trump's defense on Tuesday during his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, blasting "Trump haters" and making it clear he will not answer questions the White House wants him to avoid.

Lewandowski, a former campaign aide to Trump who is close to the White House, took aim at Democrats and former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation in his opening statement, describing the probes as "harassment" while alleging that some critics sought to bring down the president.

"Sadly, the country spent over three years and 40 million taxpayer dollars on these investigations. It is now clear the investigation was populated by many Trump haters who had their own agenda — to try and take down a duly elected president of the United States," Lewandowski said in his opening statement.

"As for actual 'collusion,' or 'conspiracy,' there was none. What there has been, however, is harassment of the president from the day he won the election," he continued.

They are trying to crucify him but he is holding up quite well. This circus just makes the Dems look so stupid and pitiful. They are like schoolyard bullies who need a horse-whipping!

I think everybody should read the book or see the movie. Just don’t give up if you think part I is boring.

I read it a few years ago. I think I liked part one the best because it set up the whole dystopian world. I liked part two because the pieces of the mystery started to become clear. But I thought part three was a bust when we meet the stud-muffin hero.

I get that Rand was writing a novel with a lot of speeches in order to make a point, but I think I would rather read an essay than a long (long!) long speech in a novel. The speech at the end is just the longest one of many that appear throughout the book.

I think the book should have been half as long as it was, and it needed a better ending. And the relationship between Dagny and Reardon was like something form a pulp fiction potboiler. Just my zwei pfennig.

Wow this is the highlight for me:

Mr. Johnson: You call this a witch hunt, I wonder if you'd like to elaborate on that any further.

(THEN Cory proceeds to very passionately blow all of this out in under 50 seconds)

Cory Lewandowski: I think that this fake Russian collusion narrative is the greatest crime committed against the American people in our generation if not ever this is a President that was duly elected by the american people and members of certain bodies refuse to accept those election results. If this were done by a different president to a different party, the same way it was done to Donald Trump that person would already have been thrown out of office and people would be in jail but when you support Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama there's a different set of rules I think the American people find it very unfair and there's been no accountability at the highest levels of the government from the FISA abuse applications which transpired, the spying on Americans clearly in violation of the fourth amendment, for the lives that have been ruined simply because they wanted to support a candidate for president of the united states and I think it's shameful.

I wish he would have said I am CORNPOP!!!!

It would have been classic.

It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad

that this BS is actually allowed to continue.

These people all need to be covered in tar and feathers and

be ridden out of DC on a rail.

Wow. Your take on the book is the exact same as mine. I actully read a ways into it and put it down for YEARS. Then I picked it up and finally got into the page turner part. But the end is WAY too preachy.

And yes, the second movie is the best, but the last third of the first one was awesome. For some reason I was suspending disbelief really well and it had a very emotional impact on me.

From the hearing:

*****

Lewandowski also countered a question from Swalwell about whether he routinely placed notes the President asked him to take down in a safe by saying, “It’s a big safe, congressman, there’s a lot of guns in there.”

Swalwell largely based his campaign around addressing gun violence.

Swalwell: Have you ever put any words that the President asked you to write down before in a safe, or was this the first time you’d done that?

Lewandowski: I believe it’s my standard operating procedure when taking notes, Congressman.

Swalwell: So every note you take of the President you put in a safe?

Lewandowski: I don’t — It’s a big safe, congressman, there’s a lot of guns in there.

LOL
