I don’t think a guy would put up with me. Last two wanted me to quit flying, stay home and have kids.
They couldn’t figure out that you are a pilot?
Sheeeze, those guys were lucky then they got to move on and find someone then
“Last two wanted me to quit flying, stay home and have kids.”
Not to get too personal but don’t neglect to have kids.
If you don’t have children your genes go extinct. Your parents know this but likely put it differently.
Look, just get pregnant. The kid will take it from there. In three years they’ll have you all trained-up, no problem.
If you’re not ready, you are not ready.
Oh, plueeese.
You have achieved where you are; don’t go on the man hating trope !
If kids are not in the agenda, why get married?
And if kids are on the agenda, it’s best to have them young. For women, that translates as “WELL before 40, preferably before 30.”
“I dont think a guy would put up with me. Last two wanted me to quit flying, stay home and have kids.”
Did either one volunteer to raise the children while you fly?
Would you offer to spend less time flying for the family?
Marriage is a give and take. Both sides need to give a little.
My second wife and I had our boys a bit later. I was 32 she was 38.
The oddest part was the parents of their friends were so much younger than us.
Still wouldn’t have traded the experience for anything.
Would you rather have someone who wants you to keep flying and will stay at home and take care of your kids?
(And I’m not trying to be nasty, it’s just a play on words I couldn’t resist.)
I once knew a girl in college, was a ‘feminist mormon’. We were both co-op students at a certain defense company in upstate NY. We had a nice time (sadly not that nice) and she went home to her feminist Mormon life on the west coast, and I went back to the Yoop to learn engineering.
Sometimes I wonder how that worked out for her and her sister wives...
Hi, SkyDancer-
Is it safe to assume (I know, I know!) you were upfront even on the first date?
1. I’ll sleep with you and I’ll travel with you and share expenses.
2. I’m in love with flying and nothing you can offer can top the thrill I feel in the air.
3. Children are not on my radar because no guy is on my radar worth giving up flying.
I would think if you did apprise potential dates of these three basic points you’d never have to break up with anyone for them being disappointed in you.
On the other hand, the Lord may just look at your reasons, smile/laugh to Himself and think, “I have a plan for you and you may just be surprised.”
And your having trouble finding a guy who is not supportive of your aviation activities?
Hate to say it girl, you have been fishing in the wrong stream
Tons of guys who love to be serious with a woman who is also pilot.
Especially guys who love flying themselves and see women who do more than just tolerate aviation as catching a unicorn or finding the holy grail.
Must confess that the flaw in the logic of this option is that you would actually have to date other pilots, but Im pretty sure there are enough male pilots out there that you should be able to find several who actually are Gods gift to women - as opposed to the majority who are just being of the opinion that they are Gods gift to women.
Seriously, most guys who fly have a tough time finding a girl who is even willing to hop in an airplane, much less one who actually enjoys it.
Besides, any guy who is a pilot and wants kids bad enough can adjust his schedule to take care of them while you are in the air
May be worth a try.
Skydancer? Do Aerobatics?
Your profile page is impressive!
Why the hell should you not fly?
Don’t pregnant married women (and pregnant unmarried women) fly all the time?
Military or civilian, all pilots get down time and days off.
Just don’t see the problem with you being a pilot.
Set your sites a little higher, look for a guy who isn’t intimidated by smart, tough, professional women.
I’m taken (for the last 42 years), but I am pretty sure there are others out there.
