Maybe check with missions boards that have churches in hard-hit areas and give money to them to disburse. We avoid large charities like Red Cross, etc., because a large percentage is skimmed off the top for “administration”, with only a small bit going to the people.
Although it gets zero press coverage by the MSM, the Southern Baptist men’s disaster crew arrives at disaster sites before Red Cross and Salvation Army. We aren’t involved in SBC when it comes to church, but they seem to be good for helping in disasters.

Exactly. They continue to live in tropical storm and hurricane pathways. Insurance companies should give homeowners one hurricane claim and that’s it. No more. Of course the companies will call it flooding so won’t have to pay for the one time.

Sail those boats in the harbor around to the Gulf side of Florida a few days before would have saved at least the boat which they could have lived on. But, nooo, now they have no house or boat and are stuck in the middle of ground zero with no telling when they’ll get electricity, water and food.
