A big part of the lie is that most deaths related to firearms are tied to handguns. Those numbers go up and down for any number of reasons.
Meanwhile, assault weapons are comparatively rarely used in crimes. But the government likes to try and ban these weapons rather than hand guns.
It begs the question: Why does the government want to ban assault weapons?
Answer: The government isn’t trying to save lives (if they were, they’d try to ban handguns); the government is trying to make sure that people lack the firepower to challenge government tyranny.
