CNN’s Rye to Evangelicals: ‘Nothing About Christ’s Words’ Align With Trump
breitbart ^ | 14 Aug 2019 | PAM KEY

Wednesday on CNN’s “At This Hour,” CNN political commentator Angela Rye criticized evangelicals who support President Donald Trump.

Rye was discussing acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli changing the words of the poem “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus at the base of the Statue of Liberty to, “Give me your tired and your poor who can stand on their own two feet and who will not become a public charge,” during an interview with NPR.

Rye said, “Emma Lazarus, so of course that brings me to the Bible. I think about, you know, the God that I serve. You know we see all of this evangelical support for Donald Trump and I wonder what Bible are they reading? There are some Bibles that have Jesus’ words in red print. There’s nothing about Christ’s words that are in alignment with the policy of limitation we see from this administration.”

Those huddled masses had financial sponsors who pledged to make sure they didn’t become a public charge.

There was no "public charge". There was no welfare, no food stamps, no section eight housing and no Obama phones. People came here for opportunity, not handouts. Opportunity was everywhere, at different levels. It might be picking melons or it might be growing them. You might be a grocer, or you might be a bagger. But if you did not struggle and work, the Government was not there to hand out food, clothing and shelter.

The left, after years of being the party of communism ( Ted Kennedy openly going to anti-God Russia to get help to defeat Reagan) the party that brings false witness continuously by calling everyone who disagrees with them racist, the party whom seems to have forgotten the commandments of not coveting your neighbors property , have no other God, honor parents instead of taking away their rights to raise their own kids, adultery as lifestyle choice , and abortion is murder. The party who scoffs at the the requirement that humans not random nature are to take dominion over the earth and the environment while lecturing to us that science not religion can be the only settled truth, when its just the opposite, science is never settled, and religion is truth .

This rally against Trump as not a saint is a joke , this from the the party that rejects Paul's words to submit to the government when it comes to obeying laws, police or borders otherwise chaos , rejects Jesus’s own words.” render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's.”, as if now we are supposed to expect Caesar to be a priest, after years of telling us there should be freedom FROM religion when constitution has no such thing, its freedom OF religion..The democratic party , the party that rejected God on their platform three times at their convention, wants to lecture the us that Trump who now as opposed to Obama has brought prayer into the White-house is no saint , a sinner ( like us all )and because of this shouldn't be president ? If they uphold this standard , we may never have to worry about another democrat ever being elected again , but alas the religion of hypocrites don't ever head their own doctrines..

I have a cousin who is the minister of an evangelical church in Florida. I visited him last week and had some long conversations. These people are well aware of Trump’s character flaws, but they like the way he governs.

More importantly, they know the opinions of Democrats. Anti-abortion, anti-police, anti-business, etc.

The poem was written by a Jewish woman who was advocating for Eastern european Jewish people to be resettled in the United States. I am very fond of a number of Jewish people that I am fortunate enough to be friends with, but I doubt that many would feel comfortable having their words attributed to Jesus Christ. I find her statement that “of course” she would jump to the Bible to be a bit contrived, at best.

I always go to CNN to get my understanding of how Christ would think and act. (I really don’t need a sarcasm tag for that, do I?)

I often turn to CNN just to see Reverend Rye explaining what the Bible is saying. Then I remember that the Bereans SEARCHED the SCRIPTURES daily to SEE if those things were so.
Then I thank God that He gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us through His Word to us. And 2 TIM.:15 as our PROMISE that IF we STUDY His Word rightly divided, we will NEVER stand ashamed before HIM. We will be approved UNTO HIM. Nowhere does He tell us to listen to CNN OR REV. RYE FOR GUIDANCE.

Oh dear. You must have thought I was serious about Rye and CNN. I wasn’t.
The only thing I was serious about was God’s word.

President Trump is, and always has been, under the “hedge of God’s protection.”

Rye knows nothng and yet she goes on to talk out the side of her mouth on what she does not know... but would like it to be so.

I have said for years, if the President would just do what is right.. no special interest to be repaid... no self interest to satisfy... no efforts to do what will pass muster instead of puttimg forth the effort to “just do what is right”.. for the people and from Biblical instructions.

We have one who is doing waht he feels is right and he’s on target... and yes, it’s Biblical.. to work for the people, to do right as one knows it ... to not let those and countries who are untrustworthy, sway you... keep on the Good Path...
