NEW YORK In separate articles on the same day, the New York Times and Washington Post each seemingly parroted the same talking points 11 times in respective articles in their zest to baselessly connect President Trumps rhetoric and policies to an unhinged manifesto attributed to the 21-year-old accused of murdering 22 people in cold blood and injuring dozens when he opened fire in a Walmart in El Paso.
The manifesto is clearly the work of a demented mind and expressed views that are all over the map, yet both newspapers selectively cited the document to divine the El Paso shooters alleged motives and link the mass murder to Trump.
Earlier this week, this reporter documented the manifesto attributed to shooting suspect Patrick Wood Crusius actually shows that the author did not have a coherent political viewpoint. While the text contains racist language targeting the Hispanic community, it also evidences hatred toward what the writer labeled average Americans and calls for a decrease in the general American population.
Missing from much of the news media coverage is that the manifesto promotes far-left policy prescriptions including universal healthcare and a socialist-style universal income. Perhaps the two main themes of the document are actually anti-corporatist and eco-extremist sentiment and the shooter repeatedly labeled both Republicans and Democrats as sellouts to corporations on a host of issues.
Still, two widely cited front-page articles, both published on August 4, were printed by the New York Times and Washington Post respectively in an attempt to link Trumps rhetoric to the shooting.
The Times piece is titled, El Paso Shooting Suspects Manifesto Echoes Trumps Language.
The Posts article is similarly titled, How do you stop these people?: Trumps anti-immigrant rhetoric looms over El Paso massacre.

Commies in concerto.
I noticed the Gilroy nutcase fell off the RADAR real quick. What up wid dat?
Democrats have been providing ‘news packets’ to these phonies for years... both of ‘em.
Journo list back or still functioning? No surprise.
the media echo chamber has been outed across the FakeNewsMSM in literally hundreds of youtube montages almost daily. this is just another example.
go look for their coverage of the Bruce Ohr 302s.
You can more easily suggest that the 24 hours a day 7 days a week rage-pimping by the leftists and the media is to blame. They may be angry at Trump and hate his tweets, but they are the ones on the TV, on the radio, in stump speeches and in debates raising the blood pressure of everyone listening all day every day.
Trump’s old tweets and speeches from months or years ago - often misquoted and mischaracterized by the left and the media - are hardly likely to be any kind of trigger event compared to the reach of these political race-dividing televangelists.
The US government has been replaced by the National Security State which somehow became a nest of Muslims and Marxists.
The Democrat sycophants in the Press are spinning round and round in an orgy of hatred, that will end up being sucked down the drain into some subterranean sewer.
Glad to see Aaron Klein is still writing. One of the bright spots during the dreadful W Bush years.
A Mockingbird Madrigal.
This is not surprising, as per a quote from the Media Research Center’s 1990 book “And That’s The Way It Isn’t”:
“Every morning, network producers, reporters, and wire service editors read The New York Times and The Washington Post to decide what news is important. Every night, newspaper editors watch to learn what network newscasts find significant. Once one Big Media outlet decides a story is worth reporting, the others are bound to follow in lockstep. More important, many editors will ignore a national or international story unless it has received the blessing of a network or The New York Times.”
He looked white, but was Italian/Iranian, and a muslim sympathizer. A hard guy to glorify. Besides, he didn't kill as many people as the El Paso and Dayton nutcases, so they make better anti-gun propaganda.
Newspapers are like silly young virgins who do everything but 'the act' and delude themselves into thinking they're 'pure' as the driven snow...
Real newspapers pride themselves on never paying a source (but the people who give them their 'news packets' are NOT above paying sources, blackmailing, hiring detectives, illegally using classified information filtered to them from shady operatives etc.) That way the Bob Woodward's, Cameron Barr's and MSNBC's David Ignatius' types can stick their 'oh so superior noses' in the air. In truth they are no different than the worst of National Enquirer hacks... Their grand ethics are as phony as they are...
Kind like the lowlife who's too good to steal - but NOT too good to feed off theft by buying stolen property. Lower that nose guys... we're in the know out here in flyover.
All of us have ZERO respect for 'news people' who feed off unethical collection of biased news stories. (Oh and for the Chris Wallace and David Ignatius types who think their 'agonizing' over use of a good story that borders on being too 'self serving' ... is part of the strategy.
I want Chris Wallace, David Ignatius and Hannity to know democrat research from years ago showed if MORE self-serving stories were included in these news packets, EDITORS AND PRODUCERS WOULD CHOOSE MORE OF THE STORIES DEMOCRATS WANTED PRINTED. Because they had more to reject they rationalized more stories to accept...
The 'agonizing' is part of a brilliant psychological scam that's plays 'journalists' for fools. THIS IS WHY YOUR INDUSTRY IS DYING. No different than the restaurant that buy illegal low grade meats and produce and tries to pass the crap off as 'fresh' then wonders why no one eats at their establishment.
