The horrific mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton that left 31 people dead and dozens more injured have thrust the issue of gun violence into the center of the 2020 presidential campaign -- with calls growing louder in the Democratic field for the return of an assault-weapons ban.

The former vice president, in a CNN interview, said that a Biden administration would push for a “national buyback program” to get such firearms “off the street.”
Asked what he’d say to gun owners worried that Biden would be coming for their guns, he quickly answered: "Bingo! You're right, if you have an assault weapon."

There are times I think we’re reaching that point. The educational system (primary, secondary and college) turns out brainwashed students. The MSM continues a non-stop drumroll against anything white, Republic, Christian or conservative. You can’t speak up anymore for fear of being called homophobe, bigot, xenophobe, etc.
That why this recent round of mass shootings has me more concerned than usual. I wonder if the Left (aided by Soros and Steyer money) will finance a no holds barred campaign against the GOP members of Congress and in the state legislatures. “We want safe streets” will be the cry. many will jump on, thinking that’s exactly what they’ll get if there are “reasonable” restrictions on gun ownership.
For some ominous reason, I don’t see the Dems or the media (the same thing actually) letting this one go so easily. This is for them what impeachment was a few weeks ago - a chance to hurt Trump and the GOP. I think they smell blood in the water.
You cant buy back what you didn’t own in the first place.

I’m 100% sure this is covered in the 2nd Amendment. You know; the part that says “shall not infringe”.
Any judge who says AR/AK type scary looking rifles are not covered by the 2A is also a Biden-type idiot.

I was thinking about what if Biden was alive in the time of the founding of our country when weapons that are mentioned in our founding concepts were invariably long guns. The same weapon you used to hunt deer, moose, bear etc was the same one you used to kill soldiers of the opposing forces. Pistols were for close quarters fighting and they were all single shot, and the caliber was pretty huge for stopping power with a single shot
In a word, they cold easily be classified as “Assault” weapons as when you were going towards the enemy it was in a formation built on assaulting the enemy. It was not at a shooting range with goggles etc., if you did not kill what you shot at as a pioneer you did not eat.
Last, one of the primary reasons we were given the right to keep and bear arms was even the founders knew that at some time in the future as they had done, we may have to take our country back from those who had decided they should rule us, not by our consent but by their force of arms against an unarmed populace

is a non starter for me.
Use Chicago as an example. Get rid of guns there and no shooting deaths for a year - then we’ll think about it.

All living beings kill to eat in some form or another. Most humans let others do the killing for them.
Any tool used to assault someone could be called an “assault weapon” so the term is specious at best. A spoon, toothpick, comb, cigarette, q-tip, knife, truck, plane, train, and automobiles are all assault weapons when used as an attacking tool instead of a defensive tool or other purpose.
No murder is more horrific than any other...
