Police and other emergency services are responding to reports of an active shooting at the Walmart near the Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas, local officials and witnesses say. Only few details were immediately available.
The incident began at about 11 a.m. on Saturday when officers were called for an active shooter at Walmart. It was not immediately clear if police have confirmed a shooting and, if so, what is the status of the suspect.

There’s a reason the Walmart shooter in custody went to El Paso instead of carrying out the attack in his hometown in Allen, Texas ... I can’t share info yet but it’ll all make sense soon. There is a lot more to the story than what networks are reporting.

The news media will "obsess" on these events for hours and days which in turn lures the weak-minded into seeing this is an opportunity to become "center stage news" nationwide by doing something similar.

I completely agree. They are trying to get more shootings. I think there is a certain contagion factor, and a desire to one-up previous death counts. I think Columbine was the impetus for some of this. We had mass shootings in the 1980s, but they were covered differently. Columbine mad the two killers into anti-heroes.

There was a 110 people killed in car accidents today and 200 million gun owners didn’t kill anybody today yet 20 people killed by a madman is the most note worthy news story of the day.

Still, the real tragedy is the number of big city killings. A Bigger tragedy, is, of course the Tens of Thousands killed in the Mexican paradise, near the Texas border, over the last many years. All not covered by the MSM.
