President Trump announced Thursday that his administration would impose a 10 percent tariff on the $300 billion of imports from China that have not yet been subject to new import duties.
Trump described the new tariffs as small and said talks would continue. The new tariffs will kick-in on September 1, according to President Trumps tweet.
In his tweets, Trump accused China of repeated reneging or failing to live up to past agreements.

Good reaction to the reports of China thinking they can wait until a traitor wins the election.
Market did not like that. DJIA swings down ~500 points. I assume it will creep back over the next few days.
Good time to grab small cap gold and silver stocks.
Wow 10% realizes $30B < $3B/month. This doesnt even move the economic needle BUT WALL STREET WILL OVER REACT FOR SURE.
By all means let the stock market have a $1T correction over a $30B annual tariff! MAKES TOTAL F-ING SENSE IN THE INSANE ASYLUM.
As one might expect stocks hit; but definitely the right thing to do.
PRC is too used to the idea that theyre entitled to ignore deals and operate in bad faith. Were now holding them accountable. If wed done this all along China would now be a true trading partner and friend instead of the force for ill they are now!
Neither can we assume lots of time; we have to act now and strongly to win this in 19 and 20.
China will wait for the election.....they donot have much to lose...
Hong Kong could be a big problem for them..
Big Media is too busy propping up Rat candidates to try to teach us all again about how bad tariffs on Chinese products are for America.
I’ve been hearing that my clothing costs would go up $400. a year because of Trump’s tariffs. I just bought a pair of premium twill pants at Walmart last night for $17.88. Made in Jordan. Least amount I’ve ever paid for pants in my life. Seem like pretty good quality. My clothing costs are going up how exactly?
Trump negotiator: You are delaying and prevaricating on your end of the agreement:
Chicoms:....more prevaricating
Trump Negotiator: So as a gesture of your sincerity here is a list of 26 people that are supplying Fentanyl to the USA and we would like you to freeze their assets within 24 hours
Chicoms:...more prevaricating
Trump negotiator: Then we have a similar list of 260 people and we we will freeze their assets world wide...maybe your name is on it....do you feel lucky punk?
Chicom negotiator: Yes Sir...please do it....its been so ordered straight away.
China always pulls this. The deal is made, sent to China to sign and they change the wording. God bless PDJT. He really does care about our nation and it’s workers.
“Market did not like that. DJIA swings down ~500 points. I assume it will creep back over the next few days.”
Our markets, yes.
The Chinese markets however, will be under more real pressure.
Something could crack over there, at some point.
Kirkland and Seabridge are among my favorites.
We can expect more rockets being fired from NK.
Hell it did that yesterday when the Fed chairman misspoke. The market is based on wishful thinking. In some ways it is no better than how Vegas .
We thought we had a deal with China three months ago, but sadly, China decided to re-negotiate the deal prior to signing.
part and parcel.
It’s why I don’t pay much attention to companies run by Chinese.
For them it is only about the bottom line and breaking a negotiated deal isn’t a thing for them...
ping
Thank you for that information.
I was not familiar with them.
You sound like you know your stuff :)
Trump always does this around the AMD quarterly stock results!....
I have AMD stock and it was going back up then whoosh the stocks went down right after the tweet. Up $1.01 then closed down .59 all on a tweet. Maybe he could just call Chinese prez Xi direct and keep the call private : )
