...it proves that I'm not repeating by rote what some priest or bishop told me to believe.

My trust in it, is based on the reading of the autobiographies of several saints, and images and prayers which they were granted by the Holy Spirit.

Well; THIS sure trumps anything that a mere priest or bishop would tell you!

Selection bias on your part.

And you are free from this; right?

Any weeping statues of 'Mary' will go up in flames; jewel encrusted bones will be turned to dust and the gold around a thousand or more altars will be melted to liquid.

You are correct sir. It all doesn’t matter a hill of beans, does it?
By the way, what time is it in your country? 😁 it is 7:42 PM, on Wednesday evening, here. 👍

Problem is, those folks who are in Heaven, and btw....just how does a Roman Catholic know they're in Heaven as ya'll constantly tell us no one really knows their eternal destiny until they die, cannot hear you.

Talk about doctrines of men! Who told you the Saints in heaven cannot hear us? Jesus Himself said in the parable that Abraham was in heaven; and was able to converse with others, like Lazarus' brother who was in a place of torment.

And Abraham died before the Resurrection; and Jesus hadn't died and risen yet.

So how is Abraham in heaven?

Or are you calling Jesus a liar?

Let me guess. Some American evangelical PREACHER told you.

Sola Scriptura my foot.

Because the passage about Lazarus, is Scriptural.

:-P

No, God doesn't, but you're lying about me again.

This was in refutation to another poster who said, if a spirit lies, it cannot be from God.

Yet here is a word-for-word case, from Scripture, of a spirit telling God it's going to lie, and God telling it to do so, because such will accomplish God's will, of getting Ahab to fall in battle.

Which does not make God a liar, but directly and literally and Scripturally refutes the poster's contention.

A single counterexample suffices to disprove a universal assertion.

I wonder which category "Call no man father" falls into?

I’m tempted to post an ice cream truck .gif to the thread, with its bells playing “Turkey in the Straw(man)” :-P

No need to warm people about the shipwreck of their faith, then.

It seems --- since you don't even address it--- that you don't know how to deal with all those imperative verbs about holding on and persevering. Nor how to deal with mass apostasy, which we are in the midst of, and which Scripture says is going to get much, much worse.

Not to worry, since all the believers are sealed and thus apostasy is impossible?

How can it be impossible and widespread at the same time?

You actually have to *read* instead of cut and pasting.

That's strange. The Book that Rome gave the world says...

James 1:22-24

22 Be doers of the word, and not hearers only. Otherwise, you are deceiving yourselves. 23 For anyone who hears the word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, 24 and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

Call no man father.

It takes a lack of brain cells to claim that Jesus' mother has any supernatural powers.

Of her own strength, no; but by God's Grace and Mercy, she has been granted them.

Many of the Marian apparitions enjoin the listeners to prayer for God's mercy in a corporate sense; not merely an individual one.

Medjugorge IIRC, said that if the prayers were not heeded, an error would come out of Russia which would affect most of the world.

See also Red October and the Communist revolution.

Just think what would have happened for humanity's good, had people obeyed in humility before God.

You are cherry picking, while ignoring other Scriptures …

I'm glad you can recognize this grievous error on the part of others.

Stop taking individual words out of context.

The earlier posts, said the original promise by the Apparition, was solely to the carmelites; and it was the Church later on, not the apparition, which extended the promise to "anyone."

There's a difference.

If someone else exaggerates what I say, that doesn't retroactively boomerang to make ME a liar.

...did you miss my earlier post about "do you have any kids"?

"I've no doubt he would," said the Horse (still with his mouth full). "But I've a sort of idea he likes to be asked."

Sounds vaguely like mindreading to me.

It sure trumps the foaming at the mouth bigotry coming out of American Fundamentalists and those who brag about their rebellion to the Church.

Humility before God allows Him more room to work.

It'd be nice if the Sola Scriptura crowd realized that themselves!

True; because the Inadequate Scriptura crowd realizes so much other stuff.
