The trolls on this thread are making ex cathedra type, UNIVERSAL statements about Catholicism.

A single counterexample, suffices to undo the Universal.

If they'd bothered to say, "Gee the Catholics screwed up in the late Middle Ages, getting carried away with legalism and at the time forgetting Grace and Mercy"...but they insist on throwing out the Infant with the Baptismal Font so to speak.
