A new investigative report published by Powerline blog alleges Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) not only married her brother to curtail U.S. immigration law, but received asylum from Somali as a child after her family used a false name.
The report, written by David Steinberg, claims to Omar is one of five siblings in the Elmi family from Somalia who was granted asylum in the United States. Three of the siblings were granted asylum in the United Kingdom, while she and two other family members, including her father, were granted refuge in the U.S.
Steinberg purports to have evidence Omar was permitted in the United States only because she falsified her name.
“The Omar family is a second, unrelated family which was being granted asylum by the United States. The Omars allowed Ilhan, her genetic sister Sahra, and her genetic father Nur Said to use false names to apply for asylum as members of the Omar family,” he alleges.
Steinberg also affirms claims that the Minnesota congresswoman committed immigration fraud by marrying her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2009. Her brother was granted asylum in the UK, but went on to study at North Dakota State University after being granted asylum through the fraudulent marriage to his sister.
Elmi allegedly lived with Omar and the father of her three children, Ahmed Hirsi. Public records show Omar divorced her alleged brother in 2017 then legally married Hirsi in 2018. The anti-Semitic lawmaker then committed tax fraud by jointly filing tax returns with Hirsi for 2014 and 2015 while she was still Elmi, a Minnesota ethics investigation confirms. She then compensated an attorney to obfuscate the fraudulence.

“Omar” entered the U.S. at 12 years old on an asylum plea under an assumed name. She used the marriage to her brother to get naturalized.
She was an adult when she married her brother to get him a green card. That is a federal crime. She should be prosecuted and her brother should have his citizenship revoked.
So this is the plan. Take the most minor aspect of her fraud and make that the focus.

Sounds like it was the other way: she married her brother to get HIM status. She was already an asylee, there would have been no more reason for a fraudulent marriage.

Mitt Romney should use this polygamy example as an instructive moment for Islam to understand John Smith’s Church of Morman in America and how this is similar to the situation of his Church of Mormon and how Islam must also bend to the Law of the Land rather than be Islam as the Religion of the Law with Laws of Nations under Islam.

If we had someone like those tainted FBI Russia Investigation agents to look at her, imagine how viciously every violation of law and infraction would be leveled against her and her family.
It would seem that the USG would have Top Secret (Congress) or Top Secret (Senate) vetting for every candidate during the primaries and continuously....

I disagree. Is it asking too much that we enforce the law - regardless of personality? If we did, Obama would have been vetted by the FBI and deemed not eligible to run for President. The Clintons and many like them would be in prison. We have millions of illegal aliens in the country. They should have been deported and/or imprisoned years ago.

For those who think she shouldn’t be held responsible due to her age during immigration, consider this.......she absolutely knew what had happened and should she not have cleared it up before running for office? As she didn’t bring her situation to light, she is guilty of a cover-up of a crime. She should be tried and sent back to Somalia as it is her true country.
