Kim Darroch reportedly told a U.S. official that Christopher Steele, the author of the discredited anti-Trump dossier that the FBI used to justify secretly monitoring members of the Trump team, was absolutely legit. Steele, in producing the dossier and several of its false or unsubstantiated claims, was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee.
The leaked diplomatic documents were published by the The Mail on Sunday, days after the paper published several anti-Trump messages Darroch sent to Downing Street from 2017 to present.
Numerous problems with the Steele dossiers reliability have surfaced, including several issues that were brought to the FBIs attention before it cited the dossier in its FISA application and subsequent renewals. Special Counsel Robert Muellers report made plain, for example, that then-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen did not travel to Prague to conspire with Russian hackers seeking to access Democrat files, as the dossier alleged. And there was no evidence of a compromising, lurid tape of Trump, nor evidence of Trump-loyal hackers in the US.
Mueller also was unable to substantiate the dossiers claims that former Trump aide Carter Page had received a large payment relating to the sale of a share of Rosneft, a Russian oil giant. And Fox News has confirmed that Steele provided clearly false information to a State Department contact prior to the FISA warrant being issued including a claim that there was a Russian consulate in Miami that was running a foreign influence operation, when no such consulate exists.

The Ambassador was involved with espionage?
Now he has resigned from diplomatic immunity and so can be adequately targeted as a foreign enemy asset.
A little kidnapping and subsequently waterboarding should sort it all out just fine.
God Shave the Queen!
A Trump hating leftard from the get-go.
“They need to worry more about pleasing America. “
They seem to have some that are more vocal about freedom than we do.
Well, that certainly lends him some credibility...
Yes, exactly. Buried in some of the NYTimes articles about this affair is the information that Sir Kim, prior to his diplomatic assignments, was a National Security Advisor to the British government, with close ties to MI6 and the US intelligence community, ties that he retained as Ambassador to the US. And that he coordinated meetings between those intelligence organizations.
So you need to wonder what his role was in the formulation and dissemination of the Steele dossier.
And using his contacts with members of Congress (which the NYTimes also makes reference to), what was he doing to undermine Trump administration policies (like tipping off Congress people in advance on stuff he had become privy to, so that they would have time to arrange some resistance).
Whoever did the leak of the Kim cables wanted him out of DC, pronto - and it wasnt just a matter of his making disrespectful remarks about Trump, although the hysterical reaction of the British establishment to his forced resignation seems designed to have you think that Trumps response was just a silly temper tantrum.
And when they pull full freight for their own defense I might give a damn.
