U.S. President Donald Trump attacked Prime Minister Theresa May and her ambassador to Washington on Monday while Britain voiced regret for a leak of confidential memos in which the diplomat called Trump's administration "dysfunctional" and "inept."
The memos from Kim Darroch, ambassador to Washington, were divulged to a Sunday newspaper, annoying Trump and embarrassing London.
"Contact has been made with the Trump administration, setting out our view that we believe the leak is unacceptable," May's spokesman told reporters. "It is, of course, a matter of regret that this has happened."
Trump responded on Twitter by criticizing May's handling of Brexit and saying she disregarded his advice.

I consider Britain to be an enemy of America and has been for since 1776!
I wish he would.
Recall the American Ambassador until this limey slug is fired..
“Trump administration should send Darrochs ass packing.”
I think President Trump should expel every UK diplomat and send a diplomatic cane to 10 Downing Street containing just 2 words: “Try again!”
They were never our friends. They only needed us a couple of times to save their asses.
Chief I demand the cone of silence!
Why would the Brits leak such info, when the effect is to make them look inept (can’t even control their own Ambassador)?
Maybe they didn’t. Maybe someone who wants this ambassador gone did.
Inept is not being able to respect the majority of voters wishes, and doing everything possible to break away from the EU.
To the UK: Our tomboy dykes bet your tomboy dykes in kick ball so there.
Did I read that right? They regret the leak, but not what it said about Trump?
“They were never our friends. They only needed us a couple of times to save their asses.”
Brutal people and terrible allies.
What you said, well done!
after a traditional tar-and-feathering ... colonial style
Mays England was no friend of Trump’s America. I bet MI -6 was behind a lot of the junk that came out on Trump. Time to clean house—England has no friends—only interests.
Ah neil burnside...what indeed? :)
The sandbaggers..what a pity they only did 20 episodes.
Lots of possibilities.
Could be someone who has a downer on the Ambassador and wants to make him look ridiculous.
Could be someone who covets his job, and thinks this will get him out of the way.
Could be a foreign power. The Russians perhaps. Or the Chinese. Maybe even the Iranians. They all have the capability. Lots of other countries gain from a wedge driven between the UK and the US.
Could be leftists in the UK establishment. British leftists are like American leftists. A lot of them are anti-American on principle and very anti-Trump in particular.
Could be extreme EU fanatics. The pro-Brexit people count on Trump and the US picking up the slack on trade when Britain leaves the EU. If Trump gets upset with the UK, that makes a no-deal leave of the EU less likely.
Whoever did it, they’ve gone to a lot of trouble. Some of those comments go back two years, and British diplomatic communications are destroyed after three months. Someone has been hording these reports (or more specifically the juicier ones) for a long time. I don’t think its a coincidence this has happened after a pretty successful State visit by Trump to the UK.
In any case, we need to know who did the leak and why.
And this would be different from every other country in the world in what way?
...but they handles Brexit so well!!!
Roger that! And, as I said in an earlier post, May’s government is complicit in this “leak”, as indicated by their continuing support of “Sir (Nigel) Kim”. Furthermore, you can bet your ass that Christopher Steele, the not-so-retired MI6 officer, had the full imprimatur of May’s government as well. Trump’s enemies are not just in the Deep State, they are prolific among our “allies” as well.
Isn’t it just a little odd that no one seems terribly concerned about the “leak” of what are highly-classified, very politically sensitive documents? Ask anyone with experience in the State Dept. what the classification level of such cables might be...
