President Trump called off a round of deportations slated to begin Sunday, saying he was delaying them for two weeks at the request of Democrats — though he said both sides need to use the time to strike a broader deal on stopping new illegal immigrants.
The surprise move came just hours after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi requested the delay, calling the planned deportations too cruel.
“At the request of Democrats, I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border. If not, Deportations start!” the president said on Twitter.
Just hours earlier Mr. Trump had said he was committed to the deportations, calling them an important consequence.
“When people come into our Country illegally, they will be DEPORTED!” he’d tweeted.
U.S. Immigration and Customs had sought to make good on that stance with plans to begin searching out and deporting thousands of illegal immigrants who’d been ordered removed by a judge, have exhausted their cases, but are defying the orders.

Day after the election he should have asked Turtle and Ryan for wall funding. No funding by Jan 21, 2017, he should have deckled the emergency then. He should have awarded contracts Jan 22 after reviewing them since the election. He has not done this.
Instead, over 100,000 illegal invaders are now captured - and then released - into our country each month. Based on these numbers, the problem is by far worse that it has ever been.
It is not “panicking right off the bat” to expect the president to deliver the single most important campaign campaign promise. Exactly when is he going to do “the right thing”?
He probably will do just that - he’s giving Nancy a chance to break another promise about doing something and building a stronger case for large-scale raids and deportations - might even show video of crying people and let the bleeding hearts know that the Dems could have helped ease the pain but refused....again...because they really don’t give a flip about the people outside what they can get from them as political leverage...they look upon people as chattel..
Any hell I know of is too good for the likes of Kevin McAleenan. He needs to be charged and tried. Ruin the guy with payment of legal fees the way Mueller did to General Flynn.

A week ago president Trump said ice was going to report millions - in the last 7 days he learned he can’t and needs Chuck and Nancy’s permission? This is garbage. When this doesn’t happen in two weeks and the deportations don’t occur what then? Go back to reading the released unredacted fisa applications? Most everything president Trump has done can be rapidly undone if he out of office. They are running out the clock and now it seems like he is going along with it.
Then you probably need to vote for someone who will listen to you...
