In a piece for the Daily Mail on Thursday, British journalist Piers Morgan explained, quite thoroughly, why he thinks Trump is going to win the 2020 election. And not just win it, but win it easily. When Trump launched his 2020 campaign on Tuesday night in Orlando, Florida, I didn't sense I was watching a guy who's going to lose. In fact, I got the complete opposite feeling, Morgan wrote. Trump exuded the confident all-conquering swagger of someone who defied all polls and logic last time, and fully intends to do so again.
He's spent two-and-a-half years bombarding Americans with relentless self-aggrandizing tweets, speeches, rallies and media interviews all designed to keep his base pot boiling.
And his strategy has clearly worked.
Everyone seems to forget that Trump won with just 46.1% of the national vote in 2016. His current approval rating is around 45%.
And as the New Yorker reminds us today, the day before the 2016 election, just 37.5% of American voters according to Real Clear Politics poll average - had a 'favorable' opinion of Trump.
So, either the polls were wrong or a lot of people voted for Trump despite not liking him.
The latest R.C.P. poll average shows Trump's favorability opinion at 43.8% - over six percentage points higher than when he won last time.
Morgan also doesnt think much of the Democrats who are desperately trying to make the case that they should have Trumps job.
And the Democrats seem all over the place, unsure whether to go for the age and experience of Joe Biden or the youth and inexperience of a Mayor Pete, and even more unsure whether to pivot to the center or the left.
They've stuck their heads like ostriches into the sand, and appear terrified to stick them out again lest the big bad beast of Trump shoots them down again.
So as things stand and notwithstanding unexpected events that can derail any presidency - I am going to ignore the polls and predict Trump will win comfortably in 2020.
To all those who scoff at this prediction, I simply remind you that you all scoffed last time when I repeatedly said Trump would win despite widespread poll evidence to the contrary.
Morgan believes that Democrats havent fully grasped what theyre up against. They're brimming with the same entitled, arrogant 'we'll beat Trump because he's a moron' nonsense that Hillary spewed throughout the last campaign to catastrophic self-harm. Morgan notes, quite accurately, that the Democrats have no message other than to demonize President Trump. So it all feels like déjà vu to me, said Morgan.
Indeed, it does.

Agreed.
Work like he’s behind.
I hate to say this, but I’m worried about PDJT’s safety. The Left have gone bonkers and, I think, just won’t hesitate to use violence to end the Trump presidency should he be re-elected. I hope that doesn’t happen, but he’s put a yuge crimp in their plans. His re-election will surely also bring a lot of Democrat criminals to justice. I hope his SS are loyal.
While Hillary is a wretched person and a horrible campaigner, she was a major figure and it’s not really surprising that the Dems ran with her in 2016. On paper, her track record was impressive, she had money, the media was 100% behind her, etc., etc.
Who in 2020 is like that for the Dems? Biden is currently being destroyed. He’s the only one with any sort of track record. How unified will the support be for Beto? Harris? Booker? Anyone?
The Dems will be much weaker in 2020 and Trump will be stronger in 2020.
This won’t be close.
It wont be easy.
Dems are up a steep hill in the culture they’ve created. How can a party win when they have lost sense of importance of responsibility in daily life?
Everything they run on is how to avoid the consequences of a lifestyle that is ruinous in the extreme, from student loans, abortion, and weakness in the face of illegal immigration and all associated crimes.
They have lost moral fortitude or framework to convince people to live even a ecologically sound way of life.
They are in big trouble as a party. I mean, everything they try to argue or champion easily blows up in their faces unless they lie enough about the circumstances.
Pierce was one of the few left wingers in the media who “GOT” MAGA... not that he agreed with Trump/MAGA ideologically, but GOT what it was and that Trump was going to win in 16.
He was one of the lone voices.. in fact, he and Michael Moore, were probably the ONLY 2 I can think of that “got it” at any level, that I can think of in the left of center world.. at least that had a media presence.
Short of a complete Economic meltdown, Trump will win Re-election handily.
My prediction:
Trump will win EVER state he won in 16.
Trump will get a higher percentage of the vote IN EVERY STATE.
Trump will win most if not all states he got over 45% of the vote in, in 2016.
Trump will take the battle to states he got 40-45% of the vote in in 2016 and win a few of them as well.
Trump will get at least 3-5 million more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016, and could get far far more than that.
I Predict this REGARDLESS of who the D nominee turns out to be.
If the D nominee turns out to be a loopy far left whackadoo, Trump will do even better than I am predicting.
RE: How unified will the support be for Beto? Harris? Booker? Anyone?
They will unify under a socialist who DOES have name recognition by virtue of his actually giving Hillary a run for her money in 2016 — BERNIE SANDERS.
He will partner with a WOMAN to give himself DIVERSITY CREDITS. It will either be Fauxcahontas or Kamala.
Polls have been manipulation tools from the beginning.
A majority of people have finally figured it out.
Sometimes you get better information if you simply open your eyes to reality and the facts.
People who keep parroting this line, don’t remotely understand how and why Trump won in 2016.
Trump is going to demolish (short of a complete economic collapse) the D candidate, irrespective of who it turns out to be.
Trump will be re-elected by the largest EC victory since Reagan.
This thing isn’t going to be close.
Just think about how much more Good For America could be accomplished IF those idiots who are running the GOP would actually support OUR President? IF they had been doing that in the beginning, Nancy Pelosi would surely NOT be House Speaker, today. I have no doubt about this at all.
that’s correct....I did the math a while back and came up with a slightly higher margin...but still, within the context of a Presidential campaign....still very small, and spread over three states.
we forget that while he won handily in the EC, he barely won a few of those states (and he barely lost a few, also....).
soooo...to your point...it won’t be easy
wasn’t easy last time
won’t be easy this time, either
relentless self-aggrandizing tweets
They're not self-aggrandizing -- they're AMERICA-aggrandizing. And because the lefties are against America, they will never understand this.
gosh, I do hope you’re right
you don’t think WI trending D hurts Trump?
I can see how he rises above that. However...it would definitely be better if Walker were still gov.
I do certainly hope you’re right.....
Trump and the GOP have one year to implement something to combat election fraud. It's going to be more massive this time around than ever before.
Don’t Assume Anything!
Realistically, Trump demolished Clinton. No matter how to slice it, he won by a comparatively tiny margin. Theres no way to spin a victory of 70k votes into an easy victory with peace of mind for an easy repeat.
