Undocumented immigrants to get health care in Gavin Newsom’s early California budget deal

California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s first budget won’t look exactly like he wanted, but a deal lawmakers released late Sunday largely fulfills the objectives he set six months ago when he first outlined his spending plan.

Lawmakers want to use an “extraordinary” state budget surplus to expand health care options for undocumented people while stockpiling billions of dollars in reserves in anticipation of an economic downturn, according to documents the Legislature’s Budget Conference Committee released.

The budget includes a fine on people who don’t buy health insurance known as an individual mandate. The fines were initially implemented as part of the federal Affordable Care Act law known as Obamacare, but Republicans acted in 2017 to roll them back.

So if you are a citizen of the United States who happens to live in California you must acquire a health insurance policy regardless of need or affordability or you will be fined by the State of California. If you are an illegal alien living in California you will be provided with a taxpayer subsidized medical policy. Makes sense to me.

In before the CA FReepers remind the board that they make the most donations and to stop picking on their state. Plus their weather is beautiful and ours suck (Rather spend below-zero weather here in WI than to set foot in CA).

Nope your good:

The budget agreement includes billions of dollars supplemental pension payments to ease financial pressure on California school districts, which have been adjusting to higher rates from the California State Teachers’ Retirement System.

The bill never seems to come due for these types of policy decisions. I can’t understand how that can be.

I feel like someone’s not telling the truth.

“In before the CA FReepers remind the board that they make the most donations and to stop picking on their state.”

Pick away! Just tell me other than getting a tingle down your leg, what have you accomplished? Because CA FReepers basically fund FR, you might ask us why. 90% of California’s land area is inhabited by people who think like those of us on FR. Unfortunately, CA has succumbed to the One Man, One Vote Edict of the SCOTUS sooner that some of the rest of the states. But realize that you are not immune to what has happened here. Texans here bluster that Texas will never turn Blue! I am almost 79, and I expect to see the day when that happens, unless Texans really understand what’s coming and take action to stop it. Would it not be more productive to be learning from what has happened in CA. We just bought a second home in Northern Nevada. People in Douglas County, NV are scared $hitless that with the population of Clark County (Las Vegas) now greater than the sum total of ALL the other counties, that it will soon turn ALL of Nevada into a CA clone. Funny story: We were having dinner in the Carson Valley Country Club a few weeks ago. On the way out we were speaking with the bartender and told her we were from California. A bar patron with his baseball cap and his beard turns to us and says: “just don’t bring your CA politics with you.” My wife spoke up and told him she was a two term president of her Republican Women’s Club and I told him that I was a three-term elected member of our County Republican Central Committee. Furthermore, that I liked guns, and in point of fact, I had one in the car, it was loaded and I have a permit here to carry it!” He said: Welcome to Douglas County! It’s really a new experience to go to dinner and see people carrying!

Dems did similar things back in late 80's early 90's when they pushed for environmental laws that forced out a lot of manufacturing to other states, and with it, many republican voters. Many during that time foreclosed on their homes when aerospace work dried up with Clinton cuts to defense contracts. Many of those properties were then used(via subsidies)to house the illegals whom the dems opened the flood gates to during that time.

I know...I was there and experienced it.

The 'rat party are traitors.

But let's not give a pass to the cheap labor express Rep's...

...they are all garbage worthy of a noose.

Do U.S. citizens residing in California really want this? Even among just Hispanic residents who are legal it’s hard to fathom a widespread desire to pay for illegals’ health care.

They already have access to health care as evidenced by their clogging of the hospitals and emergency rooms and doctors in the Box, as well, federal law mandates health care is available to everyone

now, you do have to pay for it
