Butthurt should see what constant deployment does to guys in uniform. Constant deployments is like pulling latrine detail daily. Protecting one’s troops is a priority. Find the danger and remove it. I love politicians who think that fighting an enemy should be like giving chocolates and flowers out. If only the world had only nice people, unfortunately it doesn’t. Too many instances of damned if you do and damned if you don’t arise. Some decisions have to be made instantly, if they are bad, but made with good intentions, they have to be accepted as is. Both Good and Bad decisions beat no decision.
Officers were never drivers in the Army. Perhaps the Navy men here can confirm or correct. ....................... Errrrrr? I was qualified for 1/4, 3/4, and 2.5. Many times I took control and drove giving my drivers a break. On my last day of duty I drove a bus for visiting veterans. LOL I was an 0-6 Ralph Cramden.

I can tell you no Army officer had any driver qualification in 66-75. Yes, I drove my company jeep into Ban Me Thout to the MACV PX. I also drove the deuce and a half to get my yards to a PRU OP.
