Democratic 2020 presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg, in an interview that aired Sunday, said President Trump had slandered American troops by considering pardoning servicemen accused of war crimes -- and said the proposal threatened to undermine the countrys legal and moral foundations.
When you serve, you are agreeing to serve the Constitution and uphold the law and, frankly, his idea that being sent to fight makes you automatically into some kind of war criminal is a slander against veterans that could come only from somebody who never served, the South Bend, Ind., mayor said on ABC News This Week.
Buttigieg, an Afghanistan War veteran, was responding to remarks Trump made Friday in which the president said he was looking at possible pardons. The New York Times had first reported Trump was considering granting pardons to soldiers accused of war crimes around Memorial Day.
Some of these soldiers are people that have fought hard and long, Trump told reporters. You know, we teach them how to be great fighters, and then when they fight, sometimes they get really treated very unfairly.
Trump said he was considering pardons for two or three of them but said he hadnt yet made a decision.

Ahh... Not even a John F’in Kerry
Supporting our troops does not mean we have to abandon moral principles.
But I don’t see anything moral about sending our men into difficult and dangerous situations, tying their hands behind their backs, then second guessing them from comfy armchairs and taking the word of people hostile to them over theirs.
People like Buttgieg (who ostensibly having served in some capacity and should know better) make me sick.
It is why the “Veterans Against War” fill me with such disgust. Not the veterans who served and saw terrible things and don’t want to see others go through it, but the contempt is reserved for the vast majority of them who are brain-dead leftists to whom ideology comes first, many of whom never saw combat.
I have seen these people up close, so I know what the majority of them really are, and I despise them. I will throw my lot in with the people who DID serve and see these scummy leftists like Buttigieg (and every Leftist in this country )for the opportunistic scum they are who think nothing of leaving footprints on the backs of men who were in difficult situations and had to make choices.
Exactly. See my post at #43.
Hey pete....... back inthe closet for pacifist queers
When lawyers, pacifist lawyers to boot, stand in judgement of true warriors, warriors will cease to exist.
Since war is good and necessary, the lawyers are bad and unneccssary. Their power must be stripped away for society to thrive
He needs to go off a roof somewhere.
They had a name for that, didn't they? I remember back in the 60s when we soldiers adjusted some faggot.
Can someone look at his military records here
https://www.scribd.com/document/408662295/Buttigieg-s-Military-Records
And tell, would he have been on a base where there were private, or group showers?
I think he wasn’t “married” then so “service member” might be gross.

CIRCA 2013 House Republicans pilloried Obama's National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis for his handling of national park and land closures during the government shutdown, raising questions about whether the agencys reputation has been sullied by images of landmarks being barricaded to keep the American people off their own land.
A tense joint hearing of the House oversight and natural-resource committees took place Wednesday following allegations that the NPS and its rangers had allowed themselves to become a political arm of the Obama administration, erecting the barriers to score political points and remind Americans of the primacy of government stewardship. Educational materials from the Department of Defense (DOD) depict conservative organizations as hate groups and to be aware that many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states rights, and how to make the world a better place. The documents favorably and repeatedly cite the leftwing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as a resource for identifying hate groups.
Judicial Watch obtained the DOD documents in a response to a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) filed on April 8, 2013. The FOIA requested Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to the preparation and presentation of training materials on hate groups or hate crimes distributed or used by the Air Force.
Included in the 133 pages of lesson plans and PowerPoint slides provided by the Air Force is a January 2013 Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute student guide entitled Extremism. The document says that it is for training purposes only.

Slandering...
That word - I do nothing think it means what you think it means.
Dorms? Group showers?
While it was partly a desk job at Bagram Air Base, he also worked as an armed driver for more than 100 trips his commander took into Kabul.
"Look, it's not like I killed (Osama) Bin Laden, right?" Buttigieg said. "I don't want to overstate what my role was, but it certainly is something that was dangerous."
He said he was often assigned the role as driver, which they jokingly referred to as "military Uber," because he was trained to fire a rifle to keep watch for ambushes. Yet explosive devices along the roads presented equally grave danger.
"There had to be at least two people with rifles in the vehicle and I was one of those in my unit who was rifle qualified," Buttigieg said. "It often fell to me to make sure that the vehicle was either being driven or was being guarded properly."
Shut up, Mayor Buttjuice.
TRUMP: Some of these soldiers are people that have fought hard and long, Trump told reporters. You know, we teach them how to be great fighters, and then when they fight, sometimes they get really treated very unfairly.
100 percent correct as usual... set ‘em free, Mr. president.
Buttplugs is wrong.
Slandering the troops is calling them “stupid” for joining the military instead of going to college among other things the democrats have said about the military over the years.
Buttplugs served for seven months in Afghanistan as a lieutenant in the Navy Reserve.
Must have been in a Village People tribute show.
In the navvvyyy
So he was a sailor? Jokes just write themselves...
He is a fag. I highly doubt he ever had any enemy fire.
Officers were never drivers in the Army. Perhaps the Navy men here can confirm or correct.
Agree. Had a number of senior NCO’s whose last tour was ROTC. They got degrees.
