For a long time, I have been watching after hour videos of shows by Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham, because I could watch them at my convenience with NO ads.
But now, every single one of those videos on YouTube is filled with so many ads every five minutes or so, rendering those shows unwatchable. The result? I no longer watch them on YouTube because the interruptions are really annoying.
So tonight I decided to check out MSNBC videos - Rachel Maddow and others - and guess what? NO ads.
Is this another form of social membership, where YouTube makes Fox News shows impossible to watch, but leaves MSNBC virtuall uninterrupted?
Hmmm. I wonder. Just check out these videos on YouTune. You don't have to watch them, but notice the little yellow marks on the timelines, which indicate ad interruptions. So many on Fox shows, but virtuall NONE on MSNBC videos.
What do you think? Is this a subtle but effective form of censoring conservative news shows on YouTube?

The answer is simple: nobody wants to pay for ads on MSNBCNN!

Maybe it’s a good thing—showing that people want to place ads on the FOX shows, but not on the MSNBC shows. After all, Google gets paid for each ad it displays, as that is their business.
Of course, they can oversell the available space, in which case people will decide its not worth watching through the ads, and the viewership and ad revenue will drop. It might be a self-correcting problem.

A chunk of that ad revenue goes to Fox.

I believe the channel owner gets to choose. Maybe MSNBC thinks nobody will watch if they have ads?
I’m surprised you have that long to watch fox!! I gave up on that crap when they would give you maybe 4 minutes of Chandra Levy/gary Condit nonsense then 5 minutes of ditech.com commercials. TV just isn’t suited to MSM garbage.
Yeah, I think it’s a matter of popularity and eyeballs. No one gives a crap about PMSNBC, etc.
Most likely it’s because FOX News decided to have YouTube put ads on their videos and MSNBC did not. Sometimes ads are forced on certain channels regardless of the channel owner’s desire (and sometimes channels that have decided to have YouTube’s ads have had that stripped away; this is a common problem for right-wing voices on YouTube), but usually it’s because the channel decided to opt in to YouTube’s ad program.

I watch via JuJu Bot on you Tube live and every so many minutes, the feed turns off then I have to go back and click on the link and it begins again and then a few minutes later, same thing. Happens all the time now and it’s frustrating as heck.
I only watch Shannon Bream and Fox and Friends in the mornings.
MSNBC is Comcast — it’s crap.
Remember when I posted that link to the many methods Youtube uses to censor videos they don't like?
I don't think cramming it full of annoying ads was on that list.

It sounds like Fox wants the money and MSNBC has a different strategy.
Let me guess. You think the government should force MSNBC to run ads.
Or do you think the government should prohibit Fox from running them?
Or maybe the government should force YouTube to run ads on MSNBC but not Fox?
