Judicial Watch Obtains DOJ Documents Showing Andrew Weissmann Leading Hiring Effort for Mueller
JUDICIAL WATCH ^ | 5/14/2019 | ADMIN

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today the U.S. Department of Justice released 73 pages of records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) containing text messages and calendar entries of Mueller special counsel prosecutor Andrew Weissmann showing he led the hiring effort for the investigation that targeted President Trump.

The document production came in response to Judicial Watch’s June 7, 2018, lawsuit filed after the Department of Justice failed to respond to a December 15, 2017, FOIA request (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-01356)). Judicial Watch seeks:

All text messages sent to or from DOJ official Andrew Weissmann regarding Donald Trump and/or Hillary Clinton between August 8, 2016 and the present [December 15, 2017]. All calendar entries, whether in physical or electronic form, for Weissmann from January 1, 2015 to the present [December 15, 2017]. Weissmann was formerly the Obama-era chief of the Justice Department’s Criminal Fraud Section.

Weissmann’s calendar entries provided to Judicial Watch start in May 2017, even though the lawsuit sued for records going back to 2015. The few text messages produced by the DOJ did not specify the year sent or received.

Weissman’s calendar shows that he began interviewing people for investigator jobs on the Mueller operation almost immediately after it was announced that he had joined the team in early June.

On June 5, 2017, he interviewed former Chief of the Public Corruption Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York Andrew Goldstein. Goldstein was a Time magazine reporter. Goldstein contributed a combined $3,300 to Obama’s campaigns in 2008 and 2012. His wife, Julie Rawe, was a reporter and editor for Time for 13 years, until 2013. He became a lead prosecutor for Mueller.

DOJ's Bruce Ohr kept Mueller deputy, Andrew Weissman, 'in the loop' about anti-Trump dossier" while he was chief of the criminal fraud division, BEFORE he was to assigned to Special Counsel Mueller’s team.

WEISSMAN IS ROTTEN TO HIS CORE. THOROUGHLY CORRUPT.

Sounds like Mueller’s appointment was only for show and to disguise the fact that Weissman was actually in control.

"...he’s [Mueller] hired people like [Andrew] Weissmann that worked with him and [Rod] Rosenstein in investigating the Russian illegal efforts to obtain our uranium which they quashed information in order to allow the sale to go through so that Hillary could get the $145 million for her foundation.

So it is really outrageous. He’s covering for himself at the same time he’s trying to have a coup against the president.

Andrew Weissmann

Andrew Weissmann headed the Obama administration’s Department of Justice Criminal Fraud Section. Weissman was knowledgeable of Deputy Assistant Attorney General Bruce Ohr’s collusion with Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson and did not report the illegal activity to his superiors as departmental regulations require.[1] Weissman is now lead prosecutor in the Mueller investigation.[2] Weissmann is suspected in illegal leaks from the Mueller probe.[3]

Weissmann donated $2,300 to the Obama Victory Fund in 2008, $2,000 to the DNC in 2006 and at least $2,300 to the Clinton campaign in 2007. He was at Hillary Clinton headquarters on election night and is part of the anti-Trump Resistance.

Uranium One

Main article: Uranium One bribery scandal

Vadim Mikerin, director of Tenex, plea agreement shows that the Obama DOJ’s Fraud Section was then run by Andrew Weissmann.

The Justice Department instructs prosecutors that when Congress has given a federal offense its own conspiracy provision with a heightened punishment (as it has for money laundering, racketeering, narcotics trafficking, and other serious crimes), they may not charge a section 371 conspiracy. Section 371 is for less serious conspiracy cases. Using it for money laundering — which caps the sentence below Congress’s intent for that behavior — subverts federal law and signals to the court that the prosecutor does not regard the offense as major.

Yet, that is exactly what Rod Rosenstein’s office did, in a plea agreement his prosecutors co-signed with attorneys from the Justice Department’s Fraud Section. (See in The Hill’s report, the third document embedded at the bottom, titled “Mikerin Plea Deal.”) No RICO, no extortion, no fraud — and the plea agreement does not mention any of the extortions in 2009 and 2010, before Committee on Foreign Investment in the US approved Rosatom’s acquisition of Uranium One. Mikerin just plead guilty to a nominal “money laundering” conspiracy charge, insulating him from a longer sentence. Thus, he got a term of only four years’ for a major national security crime.

I’ve been thinking that Mueller needs to be hauled in for Fraud.

Taking Fed Gov’t money for doing nothing himself and then letting himself and his minions haul in Million$ by extending the Witch Hunt for at least 18 months after the collusion kr@p should’a been wrapped up.

I would love to see this pompous azz in prison. He has ruined more lives than I can count and been overturned many times by the courts.

Weissmann almost immediately left government service after the release of the Mueller report, placing himself out of reach of the DOJ IG. He can only be reached now by a prosecutor with a subpoena.

He was conflicted by prior exposure to the fake dossier, and should never have been hired.

So this guy Weissman was the “GM” that put together the team “coached” by Mueller? And he may have been a part of a conspiracy pre-dating the assignment of the special counsel? Got it.

I’d love to see Weissmann the “attack dog” in shackles for all the storm trooper actions he has engineered.
