Reddit’s “The_Donald” group claims 740,000 subscribers, or “patriots,” as they call themselves. This raucous corner of the internet is home to all things wonderful about Trump and tends to get slammed by critics as toxic to the public discourse.
From Islamophobia and misogyny to disinformation and propaganda, the group is often called out for violating Reddit’s rulebook. Yet, even as more sites have been purged across social media, “The_Donald” is still going strong.
But why? Let former Reddit CEO Ellen Pao explain it:
‘The fear that platform employees have of their users drives a lot of decision making in ways you don’t expect. My guess is that there’s a lot of fear of people who are running and using The_Donald. It’s not a subreddit that is following the rules or should actually be there.’
As she told Mother Jones in a recent interview, beyond the fear of backlash from users, it boils down to a business decision. “It’s hard to take down a subreddit which is driving a lot of traffic,” she said.
Meanwhile, current CEO Steve Huffman has been roundly slammed for allowing the group, which hails Trump as “God emperor,” to stand. Last year, Huffman elaborated as to why racism doesn’t violate Reddit rules.

Hi, at https://dissenter.com I believe it is available for most browsers as an extension. “Brave” has some political issues with it (Gab/Dissenter is forking the Brave browser code and using BTC instead of BAT and Brenden E. is not liking that).

A quick glance made it look like it automatically adds in your comments to any (?) website’s comment section.

Excellent and valid question. Many have wondered the same thing. Gab is the only one that comes to mind but there are probably others. They just are popular like Reddit and the others. Bitchute is a good alternative to the free speech silencing YouTube.
There needs to be an entire industry based on conservative and free speech use to counter the criminal left.

“Dissenter” is like an “overlay” for comments...works with any website. Unfortunately only Dissenter/Gab users will see comments & post comments...very limited audience compared to “Disqus(sp?)”. One login/username will work for Gab & Dissenter.
Firefox banned Dissenter from their addon list but it’s still available to install on Firefox and the others through the link below.

lol...r/thedonald is literally the only relevant conservative subreddit on the site. Every generic political discussion forum is decisively bleeding heart liberal. If you comment about anything that does not suit the liberal agenda or god forbid you praise Trump you will downvoted with prejudice.
