I am heartbroken.

I gad $80 on Max Security to win, and he was on top of ALL my exotic bets.

I also had $11 on Country House to win. I won MORE Money as a result of this ruling. But, I HATE it! Those horses had a quarter mile to fix any interference. They never had a chance. Maximum Security was the best horse on that track today... by far. Does anyone really doubt it?

This was a blot on horse racing.

Dangerously Sloppy track. Trying to keep your footing. Bad call.

Hope he wins the next two. It will be a forever stain on the Kentucky Derby that they denied a triple crown winner

“MS was disqualified because a sorry loser thought he deserved to win, even if he wasn’t riding the best horse.”

No. MS was disqualified because he moved into the lane and interfered with a closing hours.

The DQ was the right call if it was a maiden claiming race or the Kentucky Derby. The #1 horse was seriously impeded in his bid for the lead.

What’s next? - points given for the best looking jockey’s outfit and the longest horse’s tail - what a farce......

I thought Maximum Security didn't impede at first either, but there's video clearly showing MS moving into War of Will's lane and hitting WoW with his back legs twice. That's impeding. https://twitter.com/jeremybalan/status/1124818251010019328

There is a lot that's libtardy, but this wasn't.

Just like when the dems say 'well you lost the popular vote' it's completely correct for Trump to say that he wasn't campaigning for the popular vote. Like or hate the rules, the horses and jockey's train for certain conditions. Getting boxed out by a Massachusetts driver horse isn't one of them.

Further, the Panamanian Jockey pretty much admitted as much in his interview just after the race finished. I'm surprised they allow the Jockey's to talk at a point like that.

Anyway - I think you can complain about the rules, but I don't think you can complain about whether the rules was implemented.

Finally, this can not be the outcome NBC wanted. Goodbye ratings for the next 2.

And I dislike that it has to end this way, but they have rules for a reason. :(

"I know the stewards had a very, very difficult decision and I'm glad I wasn't in their shoes," said trainer Bill Mott, who got his first Kentucky Derby win.

Hopefully their shoes won't get any heavier in the coming weeks.

As unfortunate as it was and at a time when horse racing needs no more bad press, the call was the right call. There are rules for a reason, simply follow them and if they are bad or not wanted rules any longer change them. But you can’t legislate along the way each and every event.

I saw the replay. Yes, he did impede and possibly cost War of Will the race. Terrible thing to happen to the sport. I think they’d been wise to let it stand, as this will sour the millions of casual race fans who only watch a couple times a year. Like I say, as big a black eye for sport as the Eight Belles tragedy.

That spires site is saying there was 520k worth of bets on country horse to win. That is a huge payout. I don’t know if that is just their site.

The second place horse was never hindered!

I didn't see the race. Is it literally true that second place was never hindered? If so, why did owner file complaint?

The track was in horrible condition, very muddy.

Exactly, this horse loves the slop. It's in his bloodlines. His father was a mudda', his mother was a mudda'.
