Democrats, however, are protesting the new push to protect American families from illegal immigrants in the nation’s job market.
The so-called “no-match” letter warns employers that their employees’ claimed Social Security Numbers are suspect — and so allows the employers to minimize their legal risks by quietly firing the employees who do not have a right to work. The program was stopped by President Barack Obama mainly because it was so effective at warning employers.
“It is a very good thing,” said Jessica Vaughan, policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies. She continued:
Our government knows the name, address, and place of employment of millions of illegal workers … These jobs should be for Americans and legal workers … the market would bring wages up to $15 an hour for more workers if we didn’t have so much illegal employment.
The policy should also identify the Social Security Numbers that have been stolen by illegals from Americans, she said. The government, she said:
knows that millions of Americans have had their identity stolen by these workers … They know the scale of Social Security Number misuse is massive — but they certainly don’t want to have to deal with the millions of irate Americans who have to resolve misuse of their SSN.
Many — but not all — employers will cooperate and fire the illegals, she predicted. “A lot of employers want to do the right thing, and they have been duped by false documents, and they want to get into compliance with the law.” However, the new policy will not deter the many employers who pay their illegal immigrants under the table, she said.

The only way this crap will stop is to fine employers $10,000 or more per illegal employee.
It is nearly impossible for an employer to determine if a social security number that has been provided is illegal if the government will not notify the employer.
Everify
The facts are at least out here in California that Hispanics are much more reliable and hard-working then white boys this is coming from a contractor
No of course everybody on my crews have to speak English
#1. Don’t let them in in the first place.
#2. If caught immediately deport them.
#3. Repeat #1 and #2.
Obama better watch out ,LOL
After the longest thirty years in my political memory, it sure is great to have a President with some 'nads again !
Right on. Actually larger fine OK with me.
Taking the incentive out of crossing the border is only common sense. If I were king, they wouldnt be allowed to work, own real property or bring a court action. Having illegal status should bestow no privileges of citizenship or even of legal alien status.
Unfortunately, many illegals are criminals or otherwise undesirable and a huge fraction of recent (read Obama Era) illegals are here to collect the freebies they are told they will receive ( and do receive) as soon as the get inside the country and fraudulently scamming our social welfare system often under multiple false identities . All while sending 500 or more dollars of surplus disposable welfare money I go their home countries in the form of remittances.
The challenge is going to be how figure out how to shut off the welfare spigot and deport the criminals, welfare cheats, layabouts and undesirables while coming to terms with the good, hard working people who are an asset.
?? The govt can only notify the employer if the employer uses e verify
And yhen of course they will let the employer know,
Not sure what your point was.
If E-Verify is not returning a hit, then it does not help an employer make a determination is the point I am making. As I understand the situation, the Obama Administration stopped providing data necessary for the system to be able to actually check it out.
I’d even say it would stop if there was a $1,000 fine for the first offense.
Nothing pains me more than a parking ticket, and those don’t cost all that much. It’s just the idea of paying out something you should have to. (avoiding the infraction...)
Then increase the fine to $5,000 the second offense, $10,000 for the third, and six months in jail for the fourth.
Revocation of the business license would accompany the fourth offense.
When a very few businesses are shuttered, this illegal alien gravy train will be over.
A few years ago I worked at this Car Dealership.
It sucked.
One guy I met was selling used cars and we got to talking about politics. He was a Liberal democrat because he didn’t know anything else. All he knew was that Republicans are evil.
He was from a wealthy, politically connected family from like Tajikistan.
He was the manager of the Used car lot.
I told him that if he put a Rainbow flag on that Prius it would sell faster. And there was that Chevy Truck, dually, that needed a confederate flag. And we went car by car attaching various “Identity” Flags. We had a blast.
I told him that Democrats are stupid.
He said, “But they take care of people”
I said, “Whatever”
I told him that if Trump is elected the poor black guy down the street is going to get a job. He’s going to buy a car and all his friends are going to wonder how this idiot got a car since they are smarter than him.
And they will want to get a job and get a better car.
He came in the next day and said that I converted him.
He was now a Republican.
E-verify, stiff fines and sanctions, no freebies for wetbacks or cartels.
End of problem.
” Democrats, however, are protesting the new push to protect American families...”
Not surprised. My opinion of Democrats is . they hate the USA!
I you told Donald J. Trump don’t f around!
Agreed. Employers need a big kick in the wallet if they hire criminal aliens.
Most effective way of getting it done.
I’ll go you one better. Seize their businesses. Seize their assets. They’re breaking the law. When you’re breaking the law to do business you have no right to be in business.
