Murdoch-owned paper published front page that Yemeni American Merchants Association says provoked hatred
A group of New York corner-store owners has announced a boycott on the sale of the New York Post, arguing that the Rupert Murdoch-owned newspapers attacks on congresswoman Ilhan Omar are making Muslim Americans less safe.
On Thursday, the Post published a front page featuring an image of the World Trade Center towers in flames on 11 September 2001 and a quote suggesting that Omar, a Somali American congresswoman from Minnesota who wears a hijab, had minimized the seriousness of the terror attacks in a speech last month.
In an open letter in response, the Yemeni American Merchants Association wrote that the front page provoked hatred and aims to harm Omar and her family and other people of the Islamic faith.
The group said it was calling on all Yemeni American bodega and deli owners as well as our community and allies across New York City to boycott the sale and purchase of the Post.
The association represents Yemeni Americans who own and run an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 of New York Citys thousands of delis and corner stores, which are known as bodegas. Such stores are integral to the daily life of most New Yorkers, a crucial source of late-night snacks, morning coffee and newspapers and magazines.

Excellent. Importing Yeminis appears to be as sensible as importing Somalis. In fairness, if they're store owners, at least they're working. On their way to assimilating?
Shouldn’t Yemeni bodegas be in Yemen?
an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 of New York Citys thousands of delis and corner stores
TENS of thousands.
There will only be 10 places nearby to get it instead.
And a MILLION Indian run delis that will sell it.
Let them lose the money.
I’m sure murdoch will survive.
These guys take losses just to get their political views out there.
Like bezos, Murdoch, etc.
The gain/loss isn’t number one on the priority list.
Not to mention I don’t know anyone who still picks up a paper at a stand.
They made these great things called smartphones and tablets...
Ask her if she entertains notions that the building was imploded by bombs or the planes were flown by remote control or if Jews masterminded the whole thing.
“some people did something”
let’s get to the heart of that, shall we?
So when will the Times and the Daily News condemn this attack on press freedom?
Boycotts can work both ways. Next trip to New York, no visits to Yemeni bodegas.
How will the NY Post survive without the Yemeni bodega subscriptions?
When she was elected, the phrase is “Some IDIOTS did something”.
“...In fairness, if they’re store owners, at least they’re working....”
Yup. They’re working all right... Working towards making YOU and ME dhimmis.
They’re incompatible with civilized peoples. They can go open bodegas in their own country.
Stick with the Korean delis. They’re a lot cleaner and we know the Koreans value America and Americans.
Importing muslims never turns out well.
ALL muslims are religiously obligated to see Sharia replace the Constitution.
We are inviting people to take over our country.
No Korean ever flew airplanes into our buildings and killed damn near 3000 of my Countrymen.
So yeah. I hear you, friend.
I wonder how much food stamp fraud is going on in those stores?
We are going to be fighting South of the Border invaders and the damn moolims we are letting into this country in the future. Mark my words
Boycotts go both ways muzzie scum.
You can tell them by their turban, which is worn differently than Muslim ones.
Most Sikhs understand the Muslim threat better than most other Americans.
They have been fighting Muslims for a very long time.
I knew a Yemeni bodega owner back when I lived in the Bronx. They make big money charging 15 to 25% higher prices than a supermarket.
They are also big into food stamp fraud along with black market cigarettes.
The guy bought a big house, than tore half of it down and had it redone to his liking. Work was done by his employees and family members.
I never liked him but I went there because he was convenient. (Right around the corner from my aunts house!
Doubt he is still there because after a while they drain the place of money and sell the business and move on to another location.
My favorite bodega was run by Indians from Gujarati. He was a few steps from my house and he was so sweet. Even showed up at my moms wake when she passed.
That's the trouble, they really can't as their values are not compatible with American values, to wit: Ilhan Omar whines and complains then when some one calls her out, she either doesn't understand or can't take it. She seems to enjoy disrupting and being in the lime light, she knows what she is doing; she is not to be trusted IMHO.
