Pretty quick to rule that out. Pretty much tells you it's arson.

Prior to today we know two things: 1) church undergoing renovation 2) churches in france getting torched and vandalized.

So to start you have two obvious possibilities.

Jumping the gun on the renovation accident and ruling out arson this fast only tells you that the authorities and the press are, as usual, in jihadi protection mode.

St. Michael the Archangel

~ PRAYER ~

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
Cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

If the French authorities ruled out terrorism, I’d say the chance it was terrorism are near 100% and rising.

When the first thing they tell you before they even investigate is that it isn’t the obvious thing, you can rest assured it’s the obvious thing.

As you say, there has been a series of fires - most especially at Saint Sulpice church in Paris, a month ago. I have been waiting for a proper explanation of that - there seemed little public discussion or concern by the French state. Of course, it is too much to expect leadership from that perpetual schoolboy, Macron.

Looking on the bright side, Notre Dame was always a divisive edifice. For many it will not be missed.

Should they decide to rebuild, I hope they can be more sensitive to cultural diversity and to the communities historically marginalized by Christian triumphalism.

At least get rid of the damned crosses.

How is one of the greatest cathedrals in the world allowed to burn down from an accident? When it started was there no one around with fire extinguishers to put it out? Then the Paris fire department takes 2 hours to get crews to the Notre Dame?

Regardless of the cause there was massive incompetence on display. Of course this is France after all.

Macron’s gotta protect his pet muzzies. He is too chickens___ to deal with them like a man. It is pretty obvious, given the recent rash of muzzlime caused church fires, that they had something to do with this one, too. But he is too scared of offending them to say it.

From another thread: “Michel Picaud, from the Friends of Notre Dame organization responsible for the renovation efforts at the cathedral, told NBC News that, to his knowledge, the church’s organ and stained glass windows were not damaged.
“The entire roof is fully destroyed,” Picaud said. “The fire started up near the roof top while another fire started in the north bell tower.”

Hmmmmmmm.

in the past 24 hours, BBC has been going ballistic on France for backing Haftar in Libya. Haftar has, over severals years - with assistance from France, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Egypt - made alliances with the powerful tribal groups, and has been wiping out Islamist groups, including Muslim Brotherhood, some of whom are allies of the UN-favoured govt in Tripoli. think Syria, Arab Spring.

listen as spooky Lyse Doucet and Razia Iqbal go off at France in the first 13 minutes below. typical of Doucet, she tries to insinuate at the very end of the segment that some of the tribal groups are turning against Haftar. same old divide & conquer, which is all the BBC knows.

FIRST 12MINUTES 52SECONDS:

AUDIO: BBC Newshour: UN envoy to Libya warns against foreign intervention
Presenter: Razia Iqbal
Newshour’s Lyse Doucet has been speaking to the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salamé, who warns against direct foreign intervention in the worsening conflict. We also hear from a French foreign ministry spokeswoman on France’s position within the security council.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/w172wq4mhv0yqj0

btw I don’t have an interest in any of the factions, but BBC have been repeating this hostility towards France throughout the world on BBC World Service over the past 24 hours.

Or not allow muzzies on the premises. But the Chrislam Pope would forebid that.

It looks increasingly like the fire at Notre Dame cathedral in Paris was an act of ISLAMIC JIHAD planned just for Holy Week!
