The concerned concern trolls want the rest of us concerned, too. And that’s concerning.

You are right to point this out. However, in many ways the circumstances are different. First, GHW Bush had a significant “honeymoon” period with the media. So when they did rail against him it had a significant effect. Trump has had everything and the kitchen sink thrown at him from day 1 where day 1 is the day he announced for office.

Secondly, GHW Bush pulled a 180 on “no new taxes” that upset staunch conservatives. There are things Trump has not completed yet, but there is no major promise he made that he has reversed himself on.

For any modern president at any time, those are respectable day-to-day numbers as they are. Numbers can go higher, but that is usually indexed to a national event like 9-11.

The biggest difference between then and now, IMO, is that HW had the backing of the Republican Party as a whole. Perhaps not all the rank-and-file, but definitely the organization. Not so President Trump.

The GOPe, Country Club Republicans, Bush Leaguers, Never Trumpers, whatever, - Republicans all - are loath to see him win a second term. THAT is a very big problem.

As more and more people file their taxes and realize the Standard Deduction was doubled and that they’re starting off with a $300+ refund before filing deductions, these numbers will continue to rise.

Of course they do. Now they have to get up every morning, and go to some stinking job, instead of sleeping in and watching TV. Curse you, Donald Trump! Curse your prosperity, and your appalling lack of collusion!/s

Here is proof that the polling data from RCP is nonsense. How could Trump have been elected if indeed, most of the voters in this Country disapproved of him during his first month in office?
