Right from the get go - this story smelled suspicious. I guess it was.

A person claiming to be a 14-year-old boy who went missing from Aurora at the age of 6 was actually a 23-year-old man from Ohio, police said Thursday.
Investigators ran a DNA test on the person who appeared in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area on Wednesday, claiming to be the child who disappeared from the Illinois town more than seven years ago. Authorities confirmed Thursday that results indicated "the person in question is not Timmothy Pitzen."

Sheesh.
Probably someone who wanted to game the system and get some freebies using the name of this poor child who has still not been found

How did this creep know enough about the missing child to get this far?
Good thing Jussie Smellit cleared the way for people to make hoax claims and get away with it...
Heh, and this is reported on a Chicago station too.
He probably went on the missing child database and found a little kid that resembled him when he was younger..reminds me of a Law and Order SVU episode “Stranger” about a woman who claimed she escaped a kidnapper(Who had kidnapped her 4 years prior) turns out that was not the case, just went on a missing kids web site and found a child that resembled her and got her info and used it as her own
Apparently this 23-year-old from Cincinnati didn’t think they’d check out his DNA.
He was just gonna get a GoFundMe started and bolt (that’s my guess, anyways).
A 23-year-old trying to pass for 14, particularly in the age of DNA, is just nuts.
I felt a little uncomfortable on the first thread of this story when going against the grain and suggesting a hoax.
No matter how cynical I get, it’s never enough.
Very disappointing. So sorry for the family.
Was this guy hoping to capitalize? (Didn’t he know about DNA tests?)
Or play a sick joke?
Or is he mentally ill?
Or, maybe he really was trying to break into cars in that neighborhood,
and when the neighbors saw him, he came up with that story?
Reminds me of those illegals who go to high school and pretend to be 15 year olds
good thing they found out so quickly.
I knew not to get my hopes up, these things rarely have a positive outcome. Still feel disappointment, his ‘mother’ undoubtedly killed him back in 2011.
We all were cautiously hopeful.
This is a disappointing outcome, to say the least.
Saw a movie that follow this script. Kid shows up after many years moves in and lives as missing son, mom starts to suspect something. Turns out kid was held by same people that took her son which is how he learned so much about them.
But in the movie the kids were close in age. Not sure how a 23 year old is gonna pass off as 14.
Reminds me of those illegals, who go to a 6th-7th grade school and pretend to be eligible age wise for baseball and football for those grades.
And he can request to play on the girls team.
I love it in the movies when a thirty-something
guy goes undercover in high school and no one
notices.
