Both groups were surveyed on a host of factors, including their use of marijuana and other drugs. The studys authors concluded that people who smoked marijuana on a daily basis were three times more likely to be diagnosed with psychosis compared with people who never used the drug. For those who used high-potency marijuana daily, the risk jumped to nearly five times."

Article on the increasing dangers of marijuana psychosis.
To: kaehurowing
Having met pot users in high school and since, they are very often easily spotted. The damage is real and it is national suicide to be legalizing pot.

It generally affects people who already have a mental issue. However, smoking marijuana all day every day cannot be healthy in any respect. If you are around someone who does it, it’s not pretty.
Stoners don’t like to be around people who aren’t stoned.

Common sense would tell us the body wasn’t designed to inhale air filled with foreign matter without plugging up or curtailing it’s natural function.

That's interesting. Similar to
Alcohol Induced Psychosis.
But they don't put humans in cages for doing that to themselves.
Isn't that interesting too?

I can’t read the article though all the smoke.
How’s alcohol working out for the country? :)

I don’t agree with legalization, and I don’t think any drug is totally innocuous. That said, I would have to see the data. It could certainly be that people with psychosis are more likely to start smoking marijuana, instead of a causation relationship. However, if it did contribute, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

The chicken and the egg. Which came first?
Are you a psycho, therefore you smoke dope?
or
Are you a doper, therefore you are psychotic?

I totally agree. That is a totally unnatural and unhealthful situation, regardless of drug. Unfortunately, those of us who might use a tenth of a gram 2 or 3 times a week to get to sleep or medicinally tend to be lumped in with that group.

I’ll eventually need it to sleep. Alcohol is too hard on the body. One hit 2 hours before bed. Out like a light.
I do CDB oil in the morning and at night. I never thought 40 years later, I would be drinking bong water.

Works for nicotine, too. It's the tar that gives people lung cancer, not the nicotine.
And, if the issue is just air filled with foreign matter, shouldn't we be concerned about BBQ pit masters?

I’ve never thought that setting something on fire and then inhaling the smoke seemed like a very good idea.
To: kaehurowing
Absolute nonsense, on par with man-made global warming. Tens of millions of Americans already smoke it daily. My sister was a daily user for well over a decade, while earning Masters degrees in Biology and Chemistry from a Big Ten university, and finished with a 3.9 GPA, back before the free-grades-for-showing-up policies began. She now makes six-figures in hospital administration with 2 sons, one a GP and the other an engineer and she has no psych issues.
Pathetic screeds like this are openly mocked, just as the 50s pot-panic movies like "Reefer Madness" were.

The potheads used to say that legalization would make the paranoia go away, as it was caused by their fear of being caught and imprisoned.

There is a difference between “I’m a daily user” and “I can’t stand to not be stoned”. If they need to be stoned all day, they have a problem.
And they don’t need to be driving.
