What do New York, San Francisco and Chicago all have in common? Theyre all willing victims of socialism.
The far-left political ideologies that have consumed these cities are now driving them deep into financial ruin and citizens are fleeing in greater numbers every year. Whether its a lack of job opportunity, exorbitantly expensive housing costs, or high taxes, theres no shortage of bones to pick with socialist policies. While liberals may herald socialism as the progressive dream, its ideologies dont hold up very well in the real world.

Even U.S.-style socialism fails: Residents flee New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
Most thinking people dont like to live in a sewer.
I live a nice life here on Staten Island.
You get Manhattan salary and live out here, it more than offsets the tax burden.
Pays maybe double what most other states would pay for the work myself and my wife do.
I got lucky. Got Manhattan pay on staten island.
manhattan and Brookyn? With the housing and apartment prices, forget about it.
the problem is that most of the socialism refugees bring their old voting patterns to their new places of residence and gradually turn them in the same crap holes that they fled from.
Exactly.
“I got lucky. Got Manhattan pay on staten island.”
And a $19.00 Round Trip to Brooklyn.

Because their ability to learn from experience is (on a scale of 0-10, with 0 being non-existent and 10 being total), a 0.0000005.
You are being extremely generous.
Apparently not enough people are leaving ST to bring down housing prices. Like about 4K a month for a 1br apt.
That was supposed to be SF. Damned auto correct.
Exactly. Which makes me wonder if this is “social engineering”.
Wasn’t there a politician this just recently encouraging this?
I suspect foreign money is keeping home prices/rents up in these places as they lose their American populations.
“the problem is that most of the socialism refugees bring their old voting patterns to their new places of residence and gradually turn them in the same crap holes that they fled from.”
Sad but true... the political equivalent of “slash and burn” farming.
San Francisco. The city where dogs worry about stepping in human crap.
For some reason the home resale market value north and east of Crappy SF went down in Dec/Jan/Feb.
Now it appears to back in full insanity. We had 3 homes sell near us in one week with backup offers.
Friends trying to sell their home to move near family members up north. Took their realtor’s advice and and took their home off the market in February and the first week in March. They put it back on the market 2 Saturdays ago at their original price and had 3 offers. It closed last week above their original price.
A realtor said that the last 2 weeks in March have been incredible re good sales. He felt that people knew that President Trump would be found innocent of the fake news charges.
I lived in Manhattan for 30 years. Since I owned my apartment and the maintenance was low, I could collect a large salary and spend very little. Of course, I left as soon as I retired. Sold a tiny apartment for nearly half a million, too.
It is certainly worthwhile to live in NY or NJ if you can make $200K or more.
Residents flee New York, Chicago and San Francisco.. just to screw up where ever the end up.
The influx of “Illegals”
Floods the Rentals
And keeps Wages Down.
But what do I care,
I’m Retiring to a
“Kazinski” cabin in AZ.
Their leaving is not as import as where they are going.
It isn’t just illegals; they are the imported middle class replacing Americans. They aren’t just taking American jobs; they’re moving into Americans’ former homes.
