Oh, GREAT! There will be so much orbiting debris that we'll be trapped here for a couple of centuries!
The Chinese already screwed up everything with a test of an anti sat system, and now the Indians are going to put paid to orbital space flight.

Only capable of intercepting a satellite in an *extremely* low end of Low Earth Orbit.
The US currently does not have anything resembling ground-based ASAT weapons deployed.

You should read more. Lots of activity in this field in the last several decades, and though most is classified, there are lots of open source articles regarding the topic.

We have them.
We stopped using them because it fills the low orbit zone with high speed shrapnel endangering the old Space Shuttle and newer Space Stations.
It was launched from a high flying F15 Eagle.
Pretty cool actually
