There needs to be just a bit of reading between the lines here but make no mistake, what James Clapper is doing here is sending out a warning flare that if he’s going down there will be a lot of others he intends to take with him—including a certain former President of the United States. (Really pay attention to how much he emphasizes Obama’s personal involvement in the process from beginning to end.)

Propaganda works. I believe the old adage that ‘most men (and women) lead quiet lives of desperation. Politicians benefit from this. Most of us are so busy trying to keep the multiple spinning plates in our lives from falling, that we have little time or energy to truly know what is real and what isn't, what is true and what is false, who is right and who is wrong, and who to believe and who to doubt. There are plenty of scummy people out there who are more than willing to exploit this.

Your problem is that you regard Donald J. Trump as a Republican. He isn’t! He has principles, a backbone, and genitalia, foreign “features” to nearly all Republicans. The “current crop” of “Republicans,” particularly those in the Senate are not fit to hand out towels in the Capitol Men’s Room. My fervent hope is that somehow the Trump Party will emerge from what he has shown us can be accomplished by someone who is committed to doing good for all the people. And that either that the Republican Party reforms itself or is tossed onto the ash heap of failed political entities. And beyond that, that Donald Trump will be the President who follows through and prosecutes those who sought to conduct a coup, to drive him from office.
