The dossier that launched several investigations into Donald Trump and his presidential campaign was based, in part, on posts from "random individuals" from a CNN website that allows the public to publish unverified information.
Christopher Steele made the admission in a deposition given in connection with a lawsuit against the dossier. The judge released portions of the deposition this week.
Washington Examiner:
According to deposition transcripts released this week, Steele said last year he used a 2009 report he found on CNN's iReport website and said he wasn't aware that submissions to that site are posted by members of the public and are not checked for accuracy.
A web archive from July 29, 2009 shows that CNN described the site in this manner: "iReport.com is a user-generated site. That means the stories submitted by users are not edited, fact-checked, or screened before they post."

This is a trained, experienced intelligence agent?! Believing Internet scuttlebutt with no effort to verify?! Unbelievable.
Does he also believe that Michelle Obama’s really a man? Or that Web Hubble’s Chelsea Clinton’s real father? Anything on the Mother Ship?
We’ve made inroads in the media, going back decades, and if you believe the Lamestream Media, this is the end of democracy and the end of the world, a bigger crisis than global warming.
As for education, the big problem is the lack thereof in public schools, and the leftardian tilt in elite institutions.

I would say that this should be cause to look at any and all information that Steele has provided to the US government, (and UK, NZ, AU etc), for the last 20 years. My experience is that fabrication of material facts by a source is not a one off, but a life long pattern. Everything he has touched in the past is now suspect. How many folks have had their life’s destroyed by his false statements.
