A source close with Hillary Clinton says she has not close[d] the door on a 2020 presidential run. This, obviously, is a complete reversal of what she said in an interview Monday.
Im not running, she told News 12, but Im going to keep working and speaking and standing up for what I believe.
Even when asked about running for another kind of elected office, for governor or mayor, Clinton laughed it off and said, I dont think so.
But now, just two days later, Clinton appears to regret making those comments, and her team is leaking a walk-back through a friendly anti-Trump reporter.
Spoke to someone close with Clinton in contact with her today. They say she wasnt trying to be emphatic and close the door on running when she spoke to a local reporter yesterday, and that she was surprised by how definitively it played, the far-left Maggie Haberman of the New York Times tweeted Tuesday night.
The person also says she is extremely unlikely to run, but that she remains bothered that shes expected to close the door on it when, say, John Kerry isnt. She has told her team she is waiting at least to see the Mueller report, Haberman added:

Queen wants to be anointed.
In theory. But it's highly unlikely that something like that would happen.
In the olden days, when things like that happened, it was because candidates didn't really run against each other.
They each had a block of delegates committed to them show up at the convention and slug it out.
Nowadays, they slug it out in the primaries and the weak ones withdraw early on.
I think she's leaving the door open because if she closes it completely, her audience loses interest in her fast.
Hillary is running. It depends on what the definition of the be word “is” is. Where have we heard that before?
She still controls the DNC.
Of course, she’s going to be a candidate and has the ability to make herself the nominee. FWIW she isn’t running for anything... except the toilet.
Especially contributors to the Clinton Foundation.
Never trust a liar...
Thats a lot of FLOP to FLIP.
She’s been flppin her flop for a while. My favorite one her boarding her campaign plane ,after waving to all of her 50 supporters, before she flops on the plane’s floor.
She will keep trying until she’s as old as Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
No matter what, her ego compels her to run. Her campaign message will be that she deserves to win because she “won the popular vote” in 2016.
It was obvious that she was going to run, even after she said “I’m not running”.
Being a Clinton, one must PARSE what she says. In this cause, she correctly said, in effect “I haven’t filed any papers to run”. Or, more precisely: “I haven’t filed any papers, yet”.
It should be OBVIOUS to people that she’s running, just look at the constant hit-pieces that keep coming out against other Democrat candidates, but never any hit pieces on her. Also, she still has a CAMPAIGN STAFF, and they were all over Bernie last weekend. I guess they feel Bernie is their biggest threat.
She expected her former followers to start screaming at the sky and rioting but it didn’t happen.
I think the supporters of the other candidates would be enraged, just like the Bernie Bros were in 2016 in response to the Wicked Witch rigging the nomination process. Having her get the nomination after winning no primaries or caucuses would be immensely stupid. Hopefully, the Democrats are that stupid.
she will keep running as a brain kept alive in a jar if she has to
Cue Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein.
if she wasn’t going to run then shed be telling us she might.
Trump has to win a 2nd term. Here’s why: He was born in 1946.
Three of the last 4 presidents were all born in 1946: Trump, Bush II, and B. Clinton.
And they all were born in the Summer of ‘46 in descending order:
B.Clinton: Born August 1946 (elected to 2 terms)
Bush II: Born July 1946 (elected to 2 terms)
Donald Trump: Born June 1946 (
?)
Hillary, Kerry, Gore, Romney - all were born in the 1940’s, but not in 1946.
That can’t be a coincidence, right? ;-)
All kidding aside, what was it about the birth year of 1946 that gave us three presidents?
I wonder what those in the betting games have as the odds.
