A source “close with” Hillary Clinton says she has not “close[d] the door” on a 2020 presidential run. This, obviously, is a complete reversal of what she said in an interview Monday.
“I’m not running,” she told News 12, “but I’m going to keep working and speaking and standing up for what I believe.”
Even when asked about running for another kind of elected office, for governor or mayor, Clinton laughed it off and said, “I don’t think so.”
But now, just two days later, Clinton appears to regret making those comments, and her team is leaking a walk-back through a friendly anti-Trump reporter.
“Spoke to someone close with Clinton in contact with her today. They say she wasn’t trying to be emphatic and close the door on running when she spoke to a local reporter yesterday, and that she was surprised by how definitively it played,” the far-left Maggie Haberman of the New York Times tweeted Tuesday night.
“The person also says she is extremely unlikely to run, but that she remains bothered that she’s expected to close the door on it when, say, John Kerry isn’t. She has told her team she is waiting at least to see the Mueller report,” Haberman added:

Somebody says they are not running for president, and ends up surprised that the news reports she isn’t running? She’s surprised that the news was reporting what she said?? What the heck????

As I said many moons ago... of course she’s running, and she will destroy anyone who gets in the way.
But she’ll time it to clean up just after the mass of dem candidates destroy each other and cash burn all of their campaign funds. They can’t attack her campaign if she’s not running.
Somebody is sending a political shot across the bow to other Democrats not to back any alternatives to Her.
Yep, she’s gonna take the high road and let them all fight it out first.

Hillary probably won’t run like she did before. Instead she’ll hope for a brokered convention. Bernie and Warren split the socialist vote. Biden and Harris split the semi-socialist vote. No one has enough delegates.
All eyes turn to Hillary.
She may think with such a crowded field, there will be a brokered convention.
In a brokered convention, with no first ballot nominee, anything can happen. A split convention could nominate Hillary as a compromise candidate. In that case, Hillary would be the nominee without having had to campaign up to that point.
You don’t have to be a candidate in the primaries to be nominated for president. She may hope something happens that the Democrats turn to her as their savior.
Might not run but she’ll damn sure waddle.
