Hardly a day goes by without the tempo of political hostility rising -- sometimes to the level of physical confrontation. Recently, "a man being sought for the assault of a conservative activist on the University of California, Berkeley campus [was] arrested."
There is less and less regret for incivility. Nobody says sorry anymore, they just retreat into a private reality where they are always right. The Washington Post, still reeling from misidentifying the victim and aggressor in a story about Covington Catholic High School students and activist Nathan Phillips, simply slapped itself on the wrist with an Editor's Note admitting it got its account wrong and declared it all square. That was better than YouTube, which allegedly deplatformed a retired Navy SEAL who debunked Nathan Phillips' claim that he was a Vietnam vet.

1. Remember the DC Sniper incident.
2. Remember the Boston Marathon Bombing martial law.
Put them together.
Do the math.
Absolutely true. Sheltering in place, will get you killed. No doubt about it. Then, maybe, as in the days of Noah. How long can people go, without eating?
The transition from the Cold Civil War (today) to a hot one is going to be quite interesting to observe as it unfolds.
I still can’t think of a better primer for understanding the many currents and cross-currents, both visible and covert, than this book. It’s really a must read for anybody interested in CW2 scenarios. You don’t need to memorize the names, just the organizations and how they interacted.

The Blue Hives are just Democrat vote-harvesting plantations today. The more govt dependent they are, the better, including low-IQ illiterate illegal aliens (future Dem voters.)
But low-IQ people who depend on the govt to feed their (illegitimate fatherless) children breakfast, lunch, and dinner (school, school, EBT) are not going to be much use to Team Tyranny in the event of a CW.
They are just dead weight. They will burn down their own cities when the food, electricity and water stop flowing in.
I agree.

Rwanda X Bosnia on steroids.
agreed.
It would be tragic and so unnecessary
Why would the water and electricity be cut off in Nebraska in a hybrid civil war or any civil war?
In a modern CW2, every actor gets a vote on his downstream neighbor’s electricity, food, water and fuel supplies.
Our shared infrastructure’s high power lines, gas and oil pipelines, water aqueducts and pipes, even food deliveries (by truck) pass in and out and through a patchwork quilt of friendly and enemy territory.
For example: angry rural people observing food trucks heading for cities will take potshots at them, and they will cease. Ditto pot-shots at transformers and power line insulators.
Everybody gets a veto on their downstream neighbor’s continued access to food, water, fuel and electricity.
It’s inevitable that this infrastructure will be targeted. Out of anger, people freezing and starving in the dark will want to put the lights out across the highway in “enemy” territory. And they will.
In a general insurrection against FedGov tyranny the people will fall back on their state and local governments, which they should do and will do.

High-value targets will hide on bases and in secure compounds, but their perimeter guards will be their weak link. Plinking their outer security will result in guards going AWOL, leaving the high-value targets high and dry.
Preaching anarchy again....
It would be a great outcome if regions endured CW2 with intact infrastructure. This might work in TX, OK, KS, NE etc. But SoCal and the Acela Corridor? They will be hell on earth, IMHO. I hope I’m wrong.
do you honestly think that the perimeter guards will be vunerable? I am thinking eye in sky and drones
With BLM and Antifa, the democrats already have mercenary troops deployed on the ground
to kill people
Who is preaching anarchy? I am just writing my thoughts. I hope I’m 100% 180* wrong. I hope everybody laughs at me in ten years, in a free and prosperous America. Who wants to be right about a possible coming national calamity? Not me.
But on the other hand, rose-colored-glasses-wearing Pollyannas are even worse. They see the tide at the beach suddenly going out 500 yards and dropping ten feet, and they think it’s a great opportunity to collect sea shells.
Two of our best destroyers being rammed by tankers is a dire warning.
11 year old “drag queens” dancing in homosexual bars and being celebrated on network TV is a dire warning.
Cultural acceptance of 9th-month infanticide is a dire warning.
At some point, our cold civil war will turn hot.
I hope I’m wrong.
How do the perimeter guards get to work? Do they live at their post, like robots? No.
No you are right and there could very well be terrible civil unrest ‘Sarayevo style’ in some areas of the USA. My problem is with those that paint with a broad brush and apply no nuance at all in a country the size of a continent and with 333 million population. There will be a lot of variation.
