A few years ago at the height of the global warming scare I wrote a book which set out to answer one of the key questions of our time: if climate change isn’t really a problem why do so many people act as though it is? The answer, I discovered, is that environmentalism is just a fashionable mask for the usual leftist obsessions with state control and wealth redistribution.
That’s why I called the book Watermelons: green on the outside, red on the inside.
Not everyone who believes in man-made climate change is a full on Commie. Some are merely useful idiots. But whatever reason people may have for supporting the scam – greed, stupidity, virtue-signalling, idiot leftist teachers – the net result is the same: bigger government, higher taxes, more regulation, lower standards of living. Exactly like you’d get under communism, in fact.
So color me completely unshocked by the Green New Deal. It looks like a revamped Communist Manifesto because that’s exactly what it is.
“Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your jobs.”
The first ‘New Deal’ was also a bad idea that harmed the US.

All too true, and there are all too many useful idiots out there. It is astounding how many people out there simply accept what they hear on the "news" or read online. I mean, seriously. They have to be willfully ignorant to accept the load of BS they are fed daily.
The answer is, it doesn't.
What is does do is reveal what this Green New Deal is really all about.
A typical redistribution of wealth scheme under the ruse of environmentalism and reducing one's carbon footprint.
Just another way to steal money from the taxpayers' collective wallets in order to line the pockets of the elitists in charge.
Climate change is not the issue, The real issue is the socialist revolution and the replacement of free enterprise capitalism with a government controlled Marxist system.
The "green" part is just to make it easier to sell and for the populace to swallow.
If you don’t have to work to get money, how many will work and make the money to redistribute? How do you redistribute wealth that has never been created?
If you didn’t see Tucker Carlson the other night rail on this issue, you need to find the video. He nailed it. He basically said, look, let’s take all fo this as face value and assume its true. Global warming is fact and it is going to destroy the planet in 12 years. Thus, we have to change. Fine. But guess what? WE (the US) aren’t the biggest problem. We’re not even in the top 3. There’s no mention of China AT ALL. Just nonsense about setting an example — we have to lead for them to follow. No evidence or even any assertion that they will follow our lead. And if they don’t, there’s no way the doom and gloom doesn’t happen anyway.
THIS is how we destroy the point with these idiots.
How do you redistribute wealth that has never been created?
They, our self-proclaimed leaders will be the uber-wealthy. The rest of us, currently satisfied with our position in life, will be poor and miserable. The “poor” who support this will still be poor. History does not lie.
The wealthiest person in Venezuela is who? Cuba? Russia? North Korea? Nazi Germany? This form of government requires a dictatorship. How many dictators are not the wealthiest person in their own country? Honest question.
Odd thing that they protest billionaires when those leading such protest will in fact become billionaires if they have their way.
We live in strange times FRiend, but such a societal shift requires a wholesale denial of our very culture. It won’t happen now and likely not in the near future, but the surrender of our cultural influences in this country (academia, public schools, and media of all types) will eventually achieve the nightmare via incremental elections unless “we the people” take back the power to influence our culture.
Step back and look at the “new normal” in comparison to 10, 20, 50 years ago on a whole host of issues. 22 trillion in debt and unfunded mandates growing each year will bring about fundamental change we cannot predict and all it might take is one election cycle with a “willing” populace.

Even if AOC and the plan she put out are laughed at by the Republicans, and are hidden away by the Democrats with the slightest bit of sense, she has still managed to 'move the Overton Window' a long, long ways left. Farther in one month than Bernie Sanders has managed to do in 29 years in the House and Senate.
Don't bother A O-C with the facts about running out of other people's money.
The facts aren't important if it is the "moral" thing to do.
