Americans who continue to hold out hope that Leftist Democrats are going to compromise with POTUS Donald Trump and Republicans over border security legislation that includes funding adequate enough to construct the kind of physical fencing or walls necessary to thwart illegal immigration and drug smuggling are living in a fantasy world.
It’s not going to happen.
Never mind that once upon a time Democrats appeared to support border security when they voted for legislation that funded the construction of hundreds of miles of fencing and substantial barriers. That was then. The Democratic Party today is not the same as it was even just a few years ago. Today, it is openly anti-American, brazen in its disdain not just for the president but the legions of voters who put him in office.

Trump should just Nationalize the guard in all the border states.

Those who clicked on the article based on the title should feel pretty silly right now.
POTUS has total control over the NG to enforce Federal Law and could nationalize them in a few seconds. Taking it completely out of the hands of the governors.
Especially on a border security mission.
It leaves me wondering if this author even knows that.
Posse Comitatus has been side-stepped so many times that it is largely meaningless now. I’m sure that won’t stop the Democrats who did the side-stepping from pointing to it and threatening impeachment.
The democrats really need to officially change the name of their party to the Peoples Communist Party USA.

The National Guard opened the schools in Little Rock to blacks, along with the the University of Alabama. They were authorized to use deadly force.
Under orders from POTUS.
Under the Constitution POTUS can use the US military to put down rebellion (ex: Whiskey rebellion) and insurrection.
There have been numerous cases of the US military being used for domestic enforcement.
This has nothing to do with the wall. It is Democrat hatred of President Trump and the USA.
A declared “National Emergency” by POTUS, and simple law enforcement are two different situations. The first situation is when POTUS can “federalize” the NG, and govs are not in command.

When Governor Faubus ordered the Arkansas National Guard to surround Central High School to keep the nine students from entering the school, President Eisenhower ordered the 101st Airborne Division into Little Rock to insure the safety of the “Little Rock Nine” and that the rulings of the Supreme Court were upheld.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered troops from the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock to restore order and to protect the students. After a single year of integration, Governor Faubus closed the Little Rock public high schools to avoid further integration.
The Guard lives in the political sandbox. They and their states lobby for force structure, for high tech equipment, and federal dollars. California doesn’t get their fair share based on population because they have problems recruiting. It would be easy to take away their aviation assets and replace them with bath and laundry units, bridging engineers rather than construction engineer units, and tactical signal units. States that get into a pissing contest with the Administration don’t like the outcome. I’m sure that Idaho would be happy to take up the slack.

This is all the more reason why President Trump should call it a national emergency and build the wall and be done with these clowns.
And Posse Comitatus still has nothing to do with any of it. Trump declares national emergency, he gets control. If not, govs have control. In either case, if they are securing the border, Posse Comitatus does not come into play at all. So why bring it up?
I have that feeling, that one must follow the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to determine the real reason. $$$$$$$$ Rules all!
