Chicago police said Monday they had located additional surveillance cameras in the area where "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett allegedly was attacked last week.
Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the footage from those cameras was being "downloaded and reviewed." He added that two individuals seen in the area around the time Smollett said he was attacked -- and considered "people of interest" -- had not yet been identified "as homeless or otherwise." Guglielmi previously said investigators would go painstakingly through footage to reconstruct what Smollett said happened to him early on the morning of Jan. 29.
According to an initial police report obtained by Fox News, the 36-year-old Smollett, who is black and openly gay, told officers that he was accosted while walking to his apartment by two men who called him an "Empire f----t [n-word]." Smollett then said the men beat him and poured an "unknown chemical substance" on him, staining his clothes. The report said that when responding officers arrived, Smollett had a white rope draped around his neck, but the report did not specify whether his alleged attackers put the rope there.
The report also says that Smollett initially did not want to report the alleged attack, but his manager did so because "he believed it to be in the best interest."

The police are in a no win situation.
They suspect it's a hoax but they can't say it because they would be crucified for covering up a gay/black hate crime.
Minority communities would go ape.
So the best the police can do is drag this out and 'follow all leads'.
Their only hope is the longer this goes on the better the chances Jussie will slip up and expose the hoax.
Maybe I missed it. But this article does not make mention of the fact that his agent was allegedly on the phone with the “victim” when one of the alleged attackers yelled, “This is MAGA country.” THAT has been previously reported (Cautionary note here about reporting of anything in general).
It is my understanding, however, that the “victim” did not consent to a review of his phone records to identify the “exact time” of the attack. The LEO were looking to dial in an exact timing for their review of the videos they were collecting.
I haven’t heard. Did the “victim” finally consent to a review of his phone records so they could verify the phone call with his agent? I’m surprised the “victim” didn’t snap photos of the perps since he must have had his phone in hand. And I’m surprised the perps didn’t take his phone since he was obviously on the phone with someone during the alleged attack.
They will find the ‘Real Killer’ of Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman first, before the Left let’s this guy fall..........................

I find it odd some idiot actor gets attacked (not killed) and it gets more attention than the 30 murders they have every weekend.
Put Robert Mueller in charge of the investigation. He’ll keep looking until they find something or anything, month after month after month.
It SHOULD be odd, but it’s not with the left. They could care less about lives of others, only theirs and the power they seek to go with it
Once they determine that he filed a fake police report, he should be fined for the entire cost of the investigation, as well as do some jail time. This keeps happening because there are no real consequences or penalties. Making them pay out of their own pocket and/or do some hard time, and these hoaxes will mostly stop.
Yep, the CPD knows this is either a total hoax or a Grindr “date” or bit of rough trade gone bad. But they’re obliged to “follow all leads” and tow the PC line until things blow over. In the meantime, keep in mind the feds are quietly investigating a threatening ransom-style letter sent Jussie Fruit via US Mail. It too looked rather ridiculously hoax-ish. Last I heard, it was announced it had been sent from the Chicago suburbs.

CPD is wasting hundreds of man hours to solve a Grindr date gone bad. The "victim" is refusing all forms of cooperation, his "ear witness" isn't cooperating, the Hollywood press is running with a non-existent narrative. The "persons of interest" are all but unidentifiable and left the area 20 minutes before the "attack," not to mention the anonymous witness who saw a "hillbilly looking" character that not a single camera in a one mile radius has a picture of.
And that's just from a couple of people working the case.
I wonder why they don’t want the police snooping through phone records.

It has to end in an arrest, either of the attackers (I doubt they exist, but in the unlikely event they do, I hope they get jailed) or he’s gonna be arrested for filing a false police report. If he does, I hope his manager does too.
Empire is a documentary revealing how black Americans think white people run a large corporation.
