Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is putting pressure on former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz as the billionaire mulls a possible run for president.
Schultz has ruffled feathers among Democrats after he announced that he was seriously considering an independent run in 2020, which many critics believe will aid President Donald Trumps reelection.
Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Moore expressed his disdain for Schultz, mocking the potential candidate for describing himself as a self-made billionaire."
Right away by admitting that you had subsidized public housing paid for by the tax dollars of the American people, you arent self-made. You got a hand-up from us like we wanted it, Moore said of Schultz growing up in project housing in New York. We want to help our fellow Americans. Its a form of socialism, public housing, and yet hes saying, Im all self-made. He went to public university, he went to Northern Michigan University actually, and you know, again, financed by taxpayers dollars. And he sells coffee, which is essentially water using city water systems, municipal water systems
You got to be a billionaire because were paying for the water!

Boycott Starbucks? Or get Mikey mad...I think I’ll make more popcorn...I can’t wait til next year when I can vote for Trump...
I hate over roasted coffee bean taste.
Guess I am not a fan.
Black coffee from McD’s is more my choice.
I don’t get a foofoo cup holder.
I hope he runs!
I think Starbucks coffee tastes like sh## but if Fat boy is boycotting it I may have to buy a cup just to support the cause and piss MM right off.
I have no idea. Call them.
It was a joke. Not going to Starbucks for a cup of tea.
I’m too busy boycotting michael more to be concerned about a coffee joint I never visit.
Growing up in the projects doesnt make the state the cause of a billionaires success.Right away by admitting that you had subsidized public housing paid for by the tax dollars of the American people, you arent self-made. You got a hand-up from us like we wanted it,
Obviously you dont understand the system: if you get anything from the government, the government owns you. Whatever you accomplish in life is due to the government.
</sarcasm> I, Pencil is an article written in 1958 by Leonard E. Read. The burden of the article is how diffuse are the inputs to make a simple item like a pencil. Of course a particular company - Eberhard Faber, in the example instance - made the pencil. But Mr. Eberhard and Mr. Faber did not simply speak the pencil into existence; the company has to have buildings housing machinery, and workers to operate the machines. But beyond that, the Eberhard Faber workers have to have food, shelter, and normal amenities - including those required by their families.
And the same is true of the vendors who supply Eberhard Faber with the machinery they require, and all the obvious materials - wood, graphite, rubber, and the ferrule material and the enamel. All those vendors have their own equipment, workers, and supply chain. And in all cases the workers need food, shelter, and normal amenities. So although the pencil certainly does not exist without Eberhard Faber, society works together to make pencils - and everything else.
So, You didn't build that? Somebody else made that happen? Yes - but that somebody else was not government. The somebody was more like everybody - mostly very indirectly. It is not the government but society - as Thomas Paine points out in Common Sense, a very different thing - which makes the pencil.
LOL! Umm...I meant Schultz...
How about we Boycott Hollywood until they Publicly Rebuke the Fat Boy?? But I haven’t watched a TV show or gone to a movie in 30 years.
Moore is just too dumb for words...
Somebody explain to me just how it is a boycott of a company he is no longer CEO of is going to hurt Schultz’ chances of running for prez??? Moore actually thinks I’m stupid enough to buy into that nonsense???
I had Starbucks coffee once, way too expensive and absolutely the nastiest crap I ever tasted. So I won’t be going to Starbucks anytime soon, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with Moore or Schultz...
LOL, I boycott Starbucks because theyre libs; so if the libs boycott as well, who does that leave?
I’m not much of a coffee drinker. Espresso or Cappuccino once in while after dinner at a restaurant.
So I’d never set foot in Starbucks, till I did once a few months ago out of curiosity. Ordered a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino expecting something like iced vanilla milk. Even though I picked whole milk it was still more like vanilla water.
Starbucks is dreadful. Horrible.
I have a $30 Mr. Coffee espresso machine. And I buy a can of Lavazza Coffee for $6-7 and make my own. Im no barista, but I guarantee my coffee tastes better than their’s.
