New calculations show scientists have grossly underestimated the effects of air pollution
Date: January 22, 2019 Source: The Hebrew University of Jerusalem Summary: New research shows that the degree to which aerosols cool the earth has been grossly underestimated, necessitating a recalculation of climate change models to more accurately predict the pace of global warming.
For a while now, the scientific community has known that global warming is caused by humanmade emissions in the form of greenhouse gases and global cooling by air pollution in the form of aerosols.
However, new research published in Science by Hebrew University of Jerusalem Professor Daniel Rosenfeld shows that the degree to which aerosols cool the earth has been grossly underestimated, necessitating a recalculation of climate change models to more accurately predict the pace of global warming.
Aerosols are tiny particles that float in the air. They can form naturally (e.g., desert dust) or artificially (e.g., smoke from coal, car exhaust). Aerosols cool our environment by enhancing cloud cover that reflect the sunlight (heat) back to space.

As soon as I saw the question” Why is the earth getting warmer instead of cooler” I knew this was bunk. The earth is not getting warmer and has not for about a decade.
The normal condition for earth is Ice Age. The earth has been cooling for the last 10 years, the Sun has been going into what is call a Grand Minimum for over a year now and is likely to be in this condition for decades. Grand Minimums, think Maunder or Dalton Minimum means mini-ice age. I say mini if we are lucky. Since the normal condition of the earth is Ice age and they seem to run for abo0ut 100 thousand years and then have a 10000 year warm period (called interestingly enough inter glacial), which we have been in for some 11000 years. The return of a full ice age is over due.
Global warming would be wonderful if we had it. The earth and it’s civilizations flourished during the Roman Warm period which was warmer than now. Most of what we call warming now is actually the result of measuring stations that used to be rural, in forests are now in cities that have grown up around them so they suffer from “heat island” effect.
Enjoy the warm while you have it, it won’t be here long.

I thought the use of Hydrofluorocarbons in aerosol cans has been declining since the late 80’s? Who is using this Ozone-depleting stuff? Not us. And our pollution controls on cars are very efficient

Just f'instance, how much would it cool the Earth if all the global warming hoaxters were shot once in their mouths? Would the discharge of that many firearms have an impact on climate?

At a minimum, it speaks to the fact that the “consensus” was never based on the level of scientific certainty that it was sold as, and couldn’t have been because neither the data nor the effects of the data were that accurately understood.
Actually not that easy, because of numerous feedback loops (as you mention) that we have no ablility to model.
You are essentially correct in everything else.
They have to assume a positive feedback loop for heating, but the evidence for that does not exist.
In essence, they make the model do what they want it to do, and call it a prediction.
