Following the media’s horribly distorted, biased reporting of a minor confrontation between a group of Catholic high school boys and a Native American activist, which helped fuel a hateful online lynch mob against the students, many have called for lawsuits to be filed against the media figures and outlets that perpetuated the false story.
One such lawsuit could be coming in the near future. The family of Nick Sandmann — the young man at the center of the media-fueled controversy — has reportedly hired a high-profile attorney who specializes in defamation, libel and slander lawsuits against the media.
The Sandmann family have retained the services of an Atlanta-based attorney named L. Lin Wood, who has quite a history of defending individuals and families wrongly accused and smeared by the media, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Thursday.
The news was announced in a release from the law firm of Hemmer DeFrank Wessels. Todd McMurty, an attorney with that firm, has already served as the family attorney for the Sandmanns.

Robert Barnes seems to be a serious attorney, has offered to represent any of the Covington teens and families. The fact that the Sandmann’s go with someone else does not mean Barnes will have no role with any other families. Lin Wood seems to be phenomenal and should have all the MSM and Hollyweird miscreant trembling already, based upon the kinds of cases/victims he has handled in the past.
I have no idea what the other Covington families may be doing with or without Barnes, but I would not assume yet that he is out of it.....

Barnes is still around. I think he’s working with some of the other families. There is a group of attorneys tackling the big smear. I hope they get huge settlements and tons of apologies from network, twitter and Hollywood!

I guess that Atlanta attorney must have worked with the guy accused of the bombing at the Olympics in 1996 who sued over the media smear of him as the one who did it when he wasn’t.
Richard Jewell was the one falsely blamed by the media.
I think Tom Brokaw had to read the apology on air and money was awarded as well.
He was just on with Jesse Waters, naming names. The legal standard in this case is lower, all he has to prove is negligence, not “actual malice”.
People are going to pay.
Unless Big Media is ordered to pay BILLION$ in damages, half of American voters will always know to hate Sandmann for the rest of his life without question.
